New Familiar Idea

Recommended Posts

Whilst in Runescape I had a discussion with the problems of forgetting items in the bank and thus had an idea to resolve this...a new familiar!

Name: Carrier Pigeon (did I spell that right?)

Able to fight: No

Summoning Level Required: 45 or 75 (thanks Canineteeth and WhiteHorn) (Suggestions?)

Charm: Blue

Shards: 60 (thanks Canineteeth) (Suggestions?)

Secondary Item: Striped feather (any other suggestions?)

Ability: Remote View, Beast of Burden(2), a new ability that let's you send a player a note 2 show them a picture of your surrounding area(thanks zaaps1) .

Scroll Ability: Special Delivery - This allows you to deposit and withdraw items one at a time to your bank. The special point cost is 10 pts for depositing and 20 points for withdrawing (withdrawals and deposits cannot be more than 150 coins in market value) If it exceeds the limit it will cost 1 point more for every 10 gp worth

Experience: I have no idea on this one either :?

Well that's my idea, suggestions are greatly appreciated especially for shards, summoning level, experience, etc.

Supporters(the ones that I'm sure of):

Cbow! Cbow!!!!! +120 range is orgasmic. Or maul, thats what I'd get out of those two options.

I agree with baconisbacon, Cbow looks freaking sensual

Runescape: Where strong weapons bring sexual pleasure.

The size of the e-peen0r is directly proportional to the rarity/power of one's equipment.

30 shards sounds good for a goldie. Around lvl 40+, with a mail pony at 80+ that can withdraw more stuff . ok, not pony

That sounds pretty decent, added it

I think that the special is a bit overpowered for 45 level (imagine endless training while your pigeon delivers food & potions!), so maybe put a restriction on consumables or make a 70+ requirement for the familiar?

I don't like it.

That contributes nothing to the thread.

I think the familiar in question should only have the ability to deposit items, just think about the negative effects of a familar that could do all of your banking for you. Also, it shoould only be able to carry 2 items tops, anymore than that and other familiars would become obselite. Also, a set amount should be drained, I'm thinking 5-7 points, max. 1pt per 10 gp? If you are going by G.E prices, thats horrible. Say you were about to die and had just gotten a D-Chain for a dust devil, even if you were lvl 99, it would be impossible. Something that costs over 990 gp would be impossible.

I made it so that it can only be up 2 100 coins worth now, hopefully then it wouldn't b so overpowered.

I made it so it costs 10 points 4 despositing and 20 points 4 withdrawing (100 gp limit overall), hope that settles some issues :) ,if not more feedback would b welcome ;)

I support need more details though but very good idea. :D

Maybe u could help me with some of those details :P Thanks 4 the support :D

Be kinda odd having a small pidgeon carry a Godsword to your bank huh? Maybe set a weight limit instead of a coin limit for deposit and withdrawal.

Heavier = more points needed.

Well a godsword would totally exceed the coin limit

But I do agree with the weight idea, any ideas on how much an bird could carry?

Not a lot, if realism has any say in this matter. However, in Runescape, the line between realism and fiction is crossed many, many times....

Need a new signature....perhaps...

You said 100 gp limit for withdrawing. What if you want to deposit a GS? Or say you get a Rune Platebody as a drop and you want to bank?

I think 2 points = 1 kg and a scroll for each would be good. If the item still weighs too much, then 1 scroll = 2 kg for THAT ITEM ONLY and ONLY IF THE SPECIAL BAR WAS FULL.

Ah that makes more sense.

Still, one iron ore and one cowhide still weigh a lot. A full invent of either nears around 70kg or something (I forget, I know it's over 50 though). That's about 2kg/ore or cowhide. I don't think a pidgeon even weighs that much.

You've got a good point, but that would end in a big dilemma, basically everything weighs at least 1kg :?

Withdrawals and deposits cannot be more than 100 coins in market value

Does that not make the special really, really poor. 100gp isnt enough to make it useful for much. Anything you farm you farm because it is worth alot, in most cases higher than 100gp.

I suggest making it in the regions of 1000gp, 10x that of what you suggested.

Overpowered. Pack Yak is lvl 96, and all he can do with his scroll is bank one RANDOM item you have in your inventory. Now you want every player to be able to not only bank, but withdraw items from your bank as well?

Well I can't really raise it by much, or it will become overpowered, so 150gp is my best so far :)

There is a 150 gp limit 2 it, even if the yak pack is random, it can bank anything

It's PACK YAK.

Still, 150 gold isnt much. You could probably get a trout or something, but not a whole lot.

People must have a habit of skipping most of the words in a post. :-k

Maybe instead of items, the pidgeon will let a chosen player see your surronding area with a note attached? It would be useful when meeting people or when showing others a new region.

My bad lol, well if gave them 1k, that would be quite some sharks, and therefore will b way more powerful, than that "pack yak". It's already able 2 bank and withdraw items :P

Hmmm that sounds like a pretty good idea, but I still wanna keep the items :P
