Legosimx
Hello; I have a question. I am about to (finally after getting off my but) get 70 def, and i am going to go buy Torags plate and legs. Currently, in my shield spot, I am using the Unholy Book from Horror from the Deep. THere are too other options. I have 8 million for items (although I would rather not spend it all. My outfit will be as follows. Head...Nietz Helm Ammy...Glory Chest...Torags Pl8 Legs...Torags Legs Weapon...Whip Shield...Rune Defender Boots...D Boots Ring...Wealth Gloves...Combat Brace/RFD Glovers I chose to use the Zammy book, because I though "hey it gives good ofense bonuses, and its easier to get than the Rune Deffender". Now that I am revamping my outfit to the above, I have a question; (finally eh?) Should I keep the zammy book, go for the deffender, or go buy an Obby shield. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Promise
Dragon sq. I believe their around 700k.
Promise
Actaullty, if you have the time, go for a rune defender. I use it when ever I don't use my DFS. If not, buy an obby shield, same str bonus as a defender, but not as much attack bonus.
Numberkills
Dragon sq. I believe their around 700k. Dragon Square if you've done Legend's quest, and will be fighting monsters who hit high (i.e Black Demons) Otherwise I'd say go for a Rune Defender. Use Black or Mithril armour on the stand for tokens, get 1.8-2.4k tokens, and you should be able to get a Rune Defender. tryto
I really advise you to get a defender, the ~+20 melee attack bonuses and the strength really blow away the book, it also gives a small defense bonus. I sold my obby shield after long periods of unuse, it's only really useful at things like daggonoth kings and the like, and is not used for everyday things like slayer. If you need more defense, I recommend a d sq or dragonfire shield, although these are more expensive. The book, however, is simply amazing for ranging with a crossbow, best possible shield slot for that, +8 to range with no negative. Do as much of the rfd quest as you can, the metallic gloves are the best in game, if you can't get mithril or above, then a combat bracelet is for you. Inuashakent
Actually, I usually only use DFS on tasks that have high offence and low defence, such as Nechs. Get a Rune defender, I'm still wearing it lol. And get a Verac's skirt. The_Gabe
ditch the glory and buy a fury imo, rfd gloves, and obby shield. Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

TheHummingbird
Rune Defender for Shield, and yeah, combat brace until you can get RFD gloves. I'm Using almost the exact setup, but instead fury for ammy, a warrior ring instead of wealth, and veracs chest and legs instead of torags. As I kill dragons in the wildy, the veracs no mage bonus loss allows me not to pray and kill revs, and accuracy > drops (since i mostly just sell bones+hides, the occasional good drop is an extra. and also, clues don't benefit from wealth) 99 Range on 08/25/08!Solo Arma Hilt on 12/06/08! Numberkills
If you're willing to spend another 300k you could buy a Warrior's Ring which increases your slash bonus. Works really well with a whip. Or if you're really "ballin`" you could spend 2.8m or so on a Berserker Ring and have a nice strength bonus. Otherwise, Ring of Wealth will suffice. Good setup :) 99 Fletching || 288/309 Quest Points || 99 Cooking || 122 Combat || 99 Defence || 2000+ Total ||16/25 80+'s || 99 Firemaking || 99 Woodcutting || 2011 Goals : All skills 80+ | 99 Magic | 99 Farming | 99 Thieving | 99 Hunter | 99 Range "The Unexamined Life is not worth living" - Socrates
Bunker_Boy
I would use a defender on your shield slot. Once you have one they're easy to get (even if you lose, as long as you have an extra!) I have 24 I think, I've even gotten them back to back from the ogres before!
Legosimx
Well I am usig a whip, so would warrior ring be worth the 300k?
