Sorry if it's a little messed up I copy pasted it. I notice no graphic card is detected (display). What does this mean? I didn't buy the computer so I don't know much about it, it's my family's comp, does this mean that a graphic card is not installed or that I haven't got one or what...? Or do all pcs have one? I really don't know much about computers. Anyway, under device manager I have something called Video Controller (VGA Enabled), but the drivers aren't updated, is this anything to do with it? Help me please... :?
D. V. Devnull
Alright, let's start with this quote from the RuneScape.com News... To play RuneScape's new detail level you will need: * 1.5 GHz processor or higher * 256MB of RAM or more * 64MB 3D Graphics card, such as Nvidia® GeForce 3 or above Now, I'm going to highlight these specs they've listed in two colors, orange (which means you don't meet the requirements) and green (which means you do meet the requirements) ... just so you can see what condition you're in right now. BTW, their minimums are more than likely a reference of what the Applet will need on its' own, not the whole PC with the Applet running. :? ... So expect yourself to need a minimum of 512 MB of RAM, and possibly a 128 MB 3D Graphics Card. At least your CPU is fine already. : I hope my info helps. 8-) ~Mr. D. V. Nadril
@ Devnull, I'm fairly positive that unless he were to be running Vista (Aero theme) (and, he isn't) running windows won't take any extra resources away from the video card.. The ram, however, there is no reason not to have a gig or more these days. (2GB really). @ OP: Can you right click on your desktop, go to properties and then "settings" and tell me what it says under "display"?
gongusan
It just says: Display: [default monitor] On :| And if needed I can get the RAM I guess, do you have to buy it or what...? Excuse my ignorance. EDIT: I increased the virtual memory using my own hard drive memory, would that mean I won't need more RAM...?
Kriegsmier
RAM and Harddrive are 2 different componants. RAM is random access memory. It basically is just that, random. The computer will dump data into random spots on this memory. Its like random temporary storage for the computer, unlike the Hard Drive which is more permanant storage. Increasing the amount of RAM makes the compuer work faster. Yes you have to buy RAM. It comes in stick type modules that you basically plug into your computer's motherboard. The whole stick plugs in, no cables or cords. All computers will have a graphics card of sort, if it didn't you wouldn't be seeing what you see on the screen. Right click My Computer, go to Properties and what does it say under that? Should say like "System:" and a bunch of numbers and stuff.
Sbrideau
Or you could go on Start, Run, then type dxdiag. This will open a screen showing all we needed to know, and you can go check on the display tab, and should see the graphics card (or if it's onboard graphics I guess). Wizz
I met all the Reqirements exept for the GHz thing and the RAM. You can check by right clicking My Computer, going to Properties and you should see at the bottem the GHz. RAM, only way to "fix" it is to buy more. However right now 448 > 256....so you are above the minimum requirement for RAM.

However right now 448 > 256....so you are above the minimum requirement for RAM. Okay, I see two people aren't reading the Belarc report correctly. In short, whatever you're adding to get that 448 isn't the right thing to add. Look in the log at the "Slot A0" and "Slot A1" items. There is exactly 256 MB in that system. All the other numbers are the miniscule cache on the CPU area, or the hard drive space. Now, unless Jagex's system requirements listing includes everything else in the system being loaded and running at the same time as the RuneScape game applet, there IS NOT enough to run the new RuneScape rendering engine. :ugeek: Seriously, re-read the bloody [bleep] log!!!!!!!!!!! :shame: ~Mr. Delta Varuna Devnull (Mr. "Actually-reads-the-logs") and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... gongusan
Look, for those of asking me what my gfx card is, I've done dxdiag and under display everything is n/a, and on properties of the desktop, the card doesnt show up either. It's like I don't even have one. If someone could read the OP and provide me with the drivers for the video controller for my pc, then maybe the card will show up.. So once again I need the driver for a video controller VGA enabled, for my pc model, which is in the 1st post. Then Ill be able to say what card I have because atm it wont say. Nadril
I've looked it over and over again and I do not see a model number I could go after. I'm looking for something like "HP 9450" or "Dell XPS 700" or something of that like.

gongusan
On the front it has the Time computers logo. It was bought around 2003 at the Time computers store... http://www.timecomputers.com/ EDIT: I've google'd all the numbers next to the other logo on the back with no results... It's like the comp was never real or something -.- So is there like a universal drive for this thing... :?
Nadril
Alright, try this. (1) Download CPU-Z (2) Run it (3) Go to the "motherboard" tab and take a screenshot, then post it here. I'm assuming that it has an integrated video card, and even if the machine doesn't have a model number (or is out dated) the motherboard should. Reason I'm asking is your report doesn't list the motherboard make, only what bios. ps: this is odd

Nadril
good and bad news. The good news, I found out your video card: Integrated S3 Pro Savage8 32MB DDR AGP 4X The bad news is it has 32MB of video RAM, which does not meet the requirements :(. Talk about a wild hunt though, man.

THIS one should do fine and is pretty cheap. gongusan, just one reminder: When you are installing the new video card, make sure you disable the onboard one, or force it into a mode where the system will accept the new card before seeking the integrated one. Otherwise, you're going to have one heck of a time installing the new video card. :geek: Good luck to you. : ~D. V.
