August 6, 200817 yr i would say mage because there is a wider variety of spells, but u need multiple types of runes which cost a lot. for range, u can sometimes get arrows back, but range doesn't hit as high as mage

August 13, 200817 yr im f2p and i think mage is better. reasons: 1) has useful spells like teleport and has useful non combat spells 2) stronger against metal armour which is wat alot wear in f2p 3) hits good at lower levels.

August 27, 200817 yr I think Range is far more useful. In a team, mage is very useful, but in any 1 v 1 situation, it's basically impossible for mage to beat range. I'm not sure about those of you who think mage is cheaper than range, because it's alot more expencive. August 27, 200817 yr If your F2P, like me =], then mage is more efficient. Most players at any mini-game,such as F.O.G., wear full rune. When your wearing full rune against a mage your doomed. I hit continual 14-16. How often do you see someone wearing full green d'hide while using melee? Usually never. Range against rune is never a good plan. Most F2P people wear full rune. So to conclude, Mage is better then range. wat? Magic blows in f2p, it's slow and has a low max hit. In FOG everyone uses magic because of the free runes, and thus wears robes and dhide. I played FOG a couple weeks ago and got 1k rating and rarely saw armor on anyone over level 40. Using range on my level 84, I haven't been beaten 1 on 1 in bounty hunter. At higher levels it's very accurate, hits decent with prayer and it's quite fast. You hit constant 14-16's on rune, but anybody with half a brain takes off their armor. I hit constant 14-16's at well over twice the rate you do on any kind of armor or defense.
