Gays actually use the term in their own language and it is not considered disrespectful to call a homosexual as gay. (Although call Rock Hudson gay would probably earn you a short trip to a hospital). In an online game, to try to use this as an offensive word, tells you more about the user rather than the receiver. BUT it IS disrespectful when you randomly call people that to hurt their feelings, because then the word equals "lesser than me". Same goes for the word gay. Really, Blackbelt, maybe you think you're oh so cool and wise to randomly spout drivel in RS, but I doubt you'll find many that agree with you here.
