krisc6 Posted July 17, 2008 Share Posted July 17, 2008 eh i was disappointed at sqeenix for this decision it was a good business decision because they'd sell millions more but still, it feels like sony got betrayed :-# where's the loyalty it's not like dmc or gta because since 7, the main stream games of final fantasy were always released by ps1/2 what's the point in having either a 360 or ps3 if all the major games are for both Of course none of the Sony fanboys cared when the franchise got stolen from Nintendo. :roll: Just saying, it's not always been a sony thing. Yeah and it came to Sony because it was there way of reaching the american market better.When it took them 2 years to release final fantasy 5 and final fantasy 6 actually came out before 5 so they have to switch the numbers, thats a sign to Squenix that action should be taken. And dont forget final fantasy on a global scale is much more mainstream and big than GTA and DMC, Final fantasy holds a lot of sway in the east which is why a lot of JRPG's imitate them. You must be new the the whole Final Fantasy scene. Final Fantasy STARTED on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Although technically it was the 'famicon' in Japan. Final Fantasy I-VI, over half of the main games were created for the NES and SNES originally, with ports to the PS1 and hand holds. If anything, we need to be seeing more FF games on the wii... What should be happening is as many games should be coming out for all consoles, but with different aspect for each. For example: PS3 get's increased graphics and maybe something else taking advantage of its system, XBox gets it's live feature and something else, and Wii gets its innovative control feature plus maybe something else. All though Wii suffers from a decrease in graphics, it doesn't really matter. Just find a way to get users to buy games for their respective systems. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! This generation there is no prospect of any consoles dying like the dreamcast did, and to some extent the gamecube. So I think this thread should become a discussion for FFXIII because at the moment its inciting flaming between PS3 owners and Xbox360 owners. Although I don't think it'd be worth it for Square, from a buisness perspective, to release on the Wii. IMO it would take too much to have to tone it down to the Wii's level. Towards the end of the podcast, Shane states that he has been speaking to representatives from Square Enix, who have told him that "Final Fantasy XIII on 360 announcement swung the ball towards Microsoft. I'm not completely sure, but Square Enix is one of those companies that will work on multiple games at a time, using pretty much the same teams, and still manages to get away with it.
