What armour to wear.

Featured Replies

I have made it up to guthix heading to zammy but I was thinking what is the most efichent( I know i spelled that wrong just look at my avvy) order to have armour in and what ones to skip.

This is my order. Iron-steel-mith-rune chain and rune armour(for d slayer)-Rune-second favorite trimmed armour if less expencive- favorite armour.

Never have 2 sets of armour used for the same thing(meaning you can have one for ranged and one for melee but not 2 for melee). Never buy armour you can't wear yet and never have under 10k even after you just bought armour. Never fight in non armour always have atleast some iron on. Never try and live off borowed armour. Never buy full trimmed addy(meaning you can have h helm and shield but not full addy g.). If you end up with trimmed black you have to wear it for atleast a month unless it is for a specific event. Never go without breaking one of these rules.

Now how do you think the new runescape player strugling to pick armour order should do it?

In fact, I do have some pancake mix.

I have picked out some bits in bold which are plain wrong.

To the guys above ; I think he is saying his preferred 'order' of how players should buy their armour. But, really, there's no need to do that. The answer is so simple :

Wear the best armour you can.

True. And don't buy trimmed or god armour except you have too much money.

I'll stick with my rune plate and legs, d boots, and helm of neitznot.

Ok I'll make it simple and give you questions.

1.What order if you had a do over whould you buy armour in.(I said skip black for example because it is so expensive and you will get to mith in a few days anyway.)

2.What do you have to say about rules for armour having?(meaning like the completely corect statment that you should never have 2 sets of armour for the same thing.)

There. Those are what you should anser.

In fact, I do have some pancake mix.

are you f2p? because your not including any member armor...

but anyways

the reason for having two sets of melee/range/mage armor is because certain armors are better for certain situations...

in some cases, against monsters with low max or average hits, you want the highest bonus you can get... so you'd wear armor that has high attack bonuses but lower defense bonuses, thus you can have multiple sets in your back of different types of armor within a class

not to mention... some armor like barrows has special effects which can help... guthans for healing etc.

and wth does an order for buying armor mean? you buy the best you can get at your level... if you have level 40 defense... buy rune!, if you have level 30 defense... buy addy!

edit:

also about the thing where you said that you should skip some armor because you wont be using it for long... it'll help you level up that much faster (protect you, prevent you from having to eat etc.) and thus its worth it... not to mention with the G.E. update its easy to just sell it off, for within 1k of what you bought it for anyways...

since this isn't WoW, there is no linked gear (armor that can only be used by one player after being worn) or any damage to armor... (except with barrows/crystal) so it doesn't really matter

Simple. Go from iron to steel to black to mith to addy to rune...then it gets more complicated but for lower levels that's basically it. And having 2 sets is always useful for placeholders but should only really be done if you can spare the cash.

And there is a perfect exception for the don't have mor than one set of armour rule!

In fact, I do have some pancake mix.

2ic8sw5.png

well for f2p, there probably isn't a need to buy multiple armors unless you want to have multiple outfits (ie. regular full rune and full (g) rune)

guthix zammy sara g and t in f2p r completely useless in my opinion. Its just show off and you could do better by spending those money for better stats -.- If you die and lose something your just gonna b mad. better keep that money in the bank or use it

I like trimmed armour (except it has to be trimmed rune.) because it looks nice and if you have money and you want to spend it on making yourself look good then do it. If you don't like trimmed armour in genral than I hope you walk around in a burlap sack. Because If you are willing to buy nicer looking clothing with REAL money than it is worth it to buy nicer armour with GAME money.

In fact, I do have some pancake mix.
