Original RuneScape Client

Featured Replies

Does anyone other than me still play with the original RuneScape client? This was the one that was released way back when rs1 was still around. It allows you to right click at anytime, not just in the game. The new client doesn't allow right clicking outside of the game.

So yea, I'm just wondering if anyone still has/uses it. It has been in my quicklaunch bar since it was released.

I downloaded it and use it now, because my Firefox always crashed when i was playing in HD.

But what do you mean when you say "It allows you to right click at anytime, not just in the game."

doesnt work i still had the Members client when there was seperate client for f2p and p2p.

Yeah I've been using it since RSC as well.

It works great and you don't have to ever worry about accidentally going back a page (hitting backspace outside of the runescape box or hitting that button on my mouse that goes back).

It also never, ever crashes on me.

Not sure if it's the same one you have but it's older than rs2 so I guess it counts.

I also have the first, or one of the first ones, on my old computer. Can't play with it anymore.

I have a really, really old client from 2001 on an USB stick but it gets stuck on the splash page. It's not possible to play through it. Back when there was 1 to 5 servers, using the executable client was a popular way of playing RuneScape, instead of going on the site, you'd just fire that up and play.

It allows you to right click at anytime, not just in the game. The new client doesn't allow right clicking outside of the game.

I'm still confused on what you mean by that. Do you mean that you can have iTunes open, and then right click on runescape without having to first click on the client?

Same here. Since I started using FireFox 3 (been using it since the Beta stage) Runescape crashed, so I converted to the client and have used it since.

Custom clients are better. You can disable the backspace key plus add screenshot features. :)

  • Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.
  • Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.

I have it, it doesn't let you open anything, it closes and gives an error.
