From Spiritual Mages and Abyssal demon which one do you think I have better chance to have either a dragon boot or a whip ?

Mages for sure are better cash.

I killed almost 15 mages and all I got was stupid runes :S

Lol, just because you dont get a drop in 15 kills doesnt mean anything... try staying there for longer.

Anyways, mages *supposedly* have a... 1/100 drop rate of boots(personal experience) but I've seen people get 3 off of one task and I once got nothing after 361 kills :wall: I wouldn't know about demons, obviously, but as long as their drop rate is better than about 1/300, then they would be better money, no? Also, demons seem extremely weak(I attacked one to clear off a recoil with 3 charges left and it took ages).

With the low prices of d boots, demons definitively.

Mages have roughly a 1/83 drop rate on boots.

 

 

 

With demons, though they have like a 1/250ish drop rate (don't know exactly) you can go a while without getting a single whip. I'm currently 7 abby demon tasks without a whip. However, many of the alchable drops (rune meds/rune chains) will make up for it. Most tasks you get 100k in alchs. The thing with demons is you can camp indefinately with guthans. Mages limit you because of prayer.

 

 

 

Do mages if you want "quick cash". Do demons if you want more experience, and look at the whips as a sort of large bonus for camping.

D boots are averaged 1/110 kills or so and whips are 1/300-400. I personally prefer Spiritual Mages for cash.

 

 

 

Oh and just for the hell of it, i'll say what everyone else is thinking. iIf you expect a drop after 15 kills and are 89 slayer, i think you bought that account.

uhm..my point was that I heard dragon boots where frequent...a friend of mine got one after few tries and another just after...I think its totally far fetched claiming about a bought account :S

It's not far fetched at all, if you expect d boots after 15 kills with all the slayer experience to get to 89, you're really suspicious.

If you see it suspicious I can do nothing.... Moreover I see many things suspicious.....do you want me to go into each and everyone`s post to find the suspicious things ? I can guarantee I will find loads

 

 

 

Having 2 or 4 accounts doesnt matter ...we are a family of 5. All accounts where created legally and I dont need to give any proof to anyone. It was just a question...what is wrong ??? I see many posts of level 70`s that want to solo bosses in GWD ...does it really mean that they are suspicious ? They are my legit accounts and my even my kids post in this forum with their own accounts.... I am not a baby like most kids in here.....am mature and of a certain age. So if you are either suspicious or want to flame someone just keep it for yourself and no need to post under my topic.

Well I don't have 85 slayer yet but I'd say that I'd go with demons just because of the fact that with D Boots it seems that my drop rate is about 1/160, and with the whole drinking prayer potion thing I'd rather kill demons because you don't have to pay as much attention. Also with the price of the D Boots dropping to 289k in the GE I wouldn't really say their worth it anymore. But yeah I thought someone with 89 slayer would think D Boots weren't as common at 1/15...

Abyssal demons drop a whip about 1/450 kills in my experience (90 slayer, I've slayed about 20 whips over my RS career). I've never camped much at mages because I've never felt the need to, but in the few I have killed I've had a few boot drops. Mages are, however, much more of a pain to kill.

The point Shivneil makes is a valid one.

 

 

 

It takes 2,169,181 XP to get from Lvl 83 - Lvl 89 Slayer - thats one hell of a lot of slaying. I should know i'm 50k off 89 at moment.

 

 

 

If you haven't had a Spiritual Mage task in earning over 2m XP then something is wrong - at this Slayer Lvl you are likely to be getting your tasks from Duradel & he tends to give you a Mages task about 1 in 20, which would suggest to me you should have had possibly 8-10 tasks over this period of time. (unless you Burthorped them, but why would you Burthorpe them?)

 

 

 

From the above reasoning hopefully you can see why anyone who has a high Slayer lvl would be suspicious about your post.

Go with mages, hopefully you will forget to top up your prayer and lose lots of items.

 

 

 

There is no way anyone can get 89 slayer and think that a 300k drop will occur every 15 kills.

Call me a noob slayerist. But don't you need prayer potions for spiritual mages in on the whole (unless your killing them while their attacking another creature or are pro prayer switch?)

You could go the no prayer route and just attack occupied ones, but that is slow as hell compared to using the zamorak ones. Also, I've noticed that task gets done the fastest if I hit several of them and then just let my character run around finishing them off. There's no way to pray flash efficiently unless you get them all to attack at the exact sametime.

I don't quite understand how my running off to do 170 nechryael and then 180 dust devils and then 173 dagganoth and then 145 abberrant specters and then 170 abyssal demons and then 180 black demons etc etc... makes more money than killing likely around a thousand spiritual mages or abyssal demons. That task list is not particularly unlikely.

 

 

 

I like slayer, but I don't pretend I'm at my most efficient, money-wise, when I'm training it. Especially now that I'm 90 slayer and maxed melees... I've had to admit myself that I'm strictly doing it for fun now lol.
