Rockfighter
I am not sure if this is the correct section so please move if it is not. Here is my story, in December of 2004 I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me in a coma from a fractured skull. Almost a year and a half later, I woke. It has taken me two years to get where I am at now, walking, talking, eating, doing everything normal by myself. I am however stuck in the house all day as I injured my back as well and suffer from chronic pain, I am legally disabled. Since I have not got much of a choice on what to do with my fun, I wanted to play runescape again. I could not remember my passwords, so I sent in recovery for them, and was succesful in recovering both accounts. However, both are disabled, and are in the redzone. one of my accounts actually had an appeal written in May 2004, which I was comatosed at the time, so obviously someone had illegal access to my account. I have no way of contacting Jagex/Runescape to explain any of this to them, and submit a legit appeal. I am now consulting whether or not to involve my lawyer as I have put many hours, and have paid over $180 in Membership subscriptions alone. I am astounded at how I am being treated, and I cannot even contact them... I need advice on what step to take from here, or if there is any way possible of even contacting Jagex to explain what has happened. Frankly, I am so angry with my account being disabled as I was going through the roughest time of my life, and still am suffering, now I have to accept the fact that I have been ripped off by a game I used to 'love'. How do I contact them, or should I just have my lawyer do it? for them to disable a persons account while they themselves are disabled would be a nice lawsuit. Fekambard
Would be nice f***ing teach Jagex a lesson, I say contact your lawyer. I've also got blackmarks on my account when it was hacked, and I cannot explain that it wasn't me either. :wall:
jsboutin2
Would be nice f***ing teach Jagex a lesson, I say contact your lawyer. His account was Jagex's property, so he can't do anything about it legally. I'd suggest you to start a new account. After all this time, you must be a newbie again, to learn the ropes a new time. Edit:After all, Jagex couldn't know you weren't the one with control of your account, and after all, to them, you could be faking a story (I'm not saying you are facking, I'm just saying they might consider you to be.) Big_Stingman
In the past, Jagex has made me angry too. If you want to, have the time, money, and a lawyer, you could just travel to Jagex Headquarters if you are that determained. Bring along all the correct medical forums, mabye even pictures if necessary, to prove you were in a coma at the time any blackmarks were given. I mean, after you travel all that way, bring a lawyer, evidence, etc., right to their doorstep, how can they say no? This is taking extreme measures though, and if you are not willing to go that far, guess you are stuck with Jagex Automated customer service or e-mail (Which I don't know if you can even e-mail them anymore... :| ). Good luck with real life and getting those accounts back. Best Regards :

I know damn well that they can be in legal trouble in this situation. Especially when my brother attempted to cancel my subcription and they billed an extra $90 all because they have no communications. And I am 100% sure that when I do communicate this situation to them, they will take action. That is where the problem lies, with lack of comm. I could sufficiently provide any proof they want that I was comatosed and physically unable to play, or pay, if they could only list an e-mail address atleast. I am pretty serious about this, as I feel like im treated like a dog (as with all their other customers) and if I do involve my attorney I am sure she wont have any trouble contacting this company. Money is not a factor, as my motorcycle crash actually helped financially (im sure you can guess why). However, I will not spend more of my time to go to Britain (jagex wont spend theirs to listen to what I have to say), I have decided to allow my attorney to speak to them first. Just so they know I am serious about being treated poorly. Not to mention every time I contact, or send an apeal, it is responded by an automated response saying I have too many black marks, hell I was not even around when they updated to the blackmarks. It is a shame, they disabled an account that has been active since before the wilderness, before rs2, when all the holiday drops were made, and one of the rare plate pures. I would say that my loyalty does not go both ways.
wioneo
It really is idiotic for any company of a considerable size to not have customer service. I'm sure that they were bogged down with morons calling them, but to remove the system all together was a mistake in my opinion. konkar
Up to you, but isn't it a major waste of cash to pay a lawyer to get a char back, alot of us have invested countless hours into chars to have lost them for what ever reason, ya get over it, quit, or re-build. \ Goodluck either way. ~ K O N K A R ~ Konkar Jr ~ X Konkar X99 Strength - 18/12/08 - 99 Attack - 5/2/0999 Hp - 20/7/09 - 99 Defence 26/7/09R.I.P.K R I S KKrisk JrRSC, Lives on in all of us
DonTonno
The only e-mail addresses accessible on RS are: [email protected] (Terms and Conditions) and another one related to billing information I can't find right now. (In German it was [email protected]). Try to write them, explain the whole situation, list your proof and tell them what further steps you are willing to take. Maybe this helps. Even if not, you'll probably keep a JaGEx Lawyer busy for about 30mins, which will cost JaGEx 50 bucks. : [email protected] is the second one

I have had a private attorney for years, and its not a major waste of cash when I can profit from it if they do not cooperate. They took advatage of me while I was disabled, whether they knew or not, they had the info and did nothing about it. Which leaves them in hot water. And yeah, people that lose chars have done something to lose their character, the only thing I did was... nothing. Please don't comment on legal proceedings if you do not know about how the system works.
Rockfighter
According to your story the accident took place in December 2004, and the appeal was sent in May 2004. Unless I'm mistaken, the appeal was therefore sent in before your unfortunate accident. If your story is true, then I apologize and suggest that you contact JaGEx at the email address provided above, but I don't think that someone in your supposed situation would forget when your accident took place or make a mistake like that. It all seems highly unlikely... :| Ok, I typed that up before I saw your latest post. I agree that slaytanicc was rude, but it still seems very unlikely that you could somehow press charges against JaGEx. :? I posted the wrong date of appeal was supposed to be in May of '07(I am not sure when the blackmarks update came) but you should have noticed that. and since so many of you are questioning me, and calling me a liar, PM me and you will receive my hospital bill, has all the info you will need. And I can assure you, Jagex does not want to be in court, this will settle outside of it. Because it is serious to the gov't the way disabled individuals are treated/taken advantage of. ToxicDuck
Well said toastie. But neither of them are innocent. I would've thought a horrific crash like the one you suffered would have a profound affect on how you behave to other people. I have had complications in my life and believe me, they change the way I look at others. OT : You won't get your account back ; thanks to JaGex's stupid policy of hiding any form of "real" contact route, there's no way you can suitably describe your circumstances. Kind of ironic, that, on the JaGex homepage, they make it quite clear that they are one of the "Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For". Iamdan
You guys should just drop it and be the bigger man, you're both acting like kids. You aren't witty, and you're both really just embarrassing yourselves. As far as the legal side is concerned, you have no legal leverage over your account, because it is the property of Jagex. Locking your account is not taking advantage of you, just like locking anybody else s account isn't taking advantage of them. I don't understand where you made that connection. If you got your lawyer involved, they would unlock your account rather than go to court. Not because they have any obligation to, but because the whole you being disabled thing and having your account locked while in a coma would give them bad publicity.
