Also, it was dated today, but that conversations was almost a week ago...and also I'm not sure how I used any offensive language...it also has "Deferred" in the appeal coloumn, so I'm not sure if I can do anything. Deferred means...what...blocked? or something similar I suppose that I should look that up. Several lines of that have been cut out, and I'm not sure how exactly Jagex chooses which lines to omit, it seems random in this case... It also says that "You are muted for 1 more day by a moderator," so does that mean that a player mod muted me? I thought that p mod mutes happen immediately, or at least that would seem to be more efficient. So...does anyone know a way for me to fix this? The last time that I was muted it was for saying "That was a stupid question" under rule 1, but that appeal was accepted before I could even log back in, and I'm betting that the same would happen here if I had the ability to appeal... Just live out the one day mute, I remember having this myself when some player mod muted me for some odd reason, when I appealed it basically took like a day or two for a reply to come back and by the time my mute was gone. gun_hippy Posted July 29, 2008 Share Posted July 29, 2008 You know why you where muted, and yes the system really is that sensitive. Doesn't take much if you get reported. Afaik, deferred means - it's appealable, but not yet. The mark will stay there until you collect more, then enter the "yellow zone". Once you're in that zone you can subsequently appeal all of your marks that you have accumulated. All part of the newe sytem. P mod muted do happen immediately, so i don't think it was a p mod that muted you. It could have been an indirect result though, say, the p mod reported you though it was an actual j mod that put the mute on your account. And yeah, they come way after the event. I tend to get each nice selection of mutes and bans at the same time, spread out over about 3 months. Stuff i don't even remember and they all come along at once, but are dated to the day they are sent to you, not the day they are reported. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If your account is in the green zone, you can't appeal the mute, which I think is absolutely ridiculous. That doesn't seem like a very efficient system... Yeah, but in the end it's only the more severe offences (permanant mutes and long bans) that really would make people stop playing. If you're in the green zone, you'll get maybe a 3 day temp mute and a slither of black marks, nothing detrimental. If you're in the red zone, then jagex will sort you out faster because you migth stop iging them your money since you're perm muted. It's only when your marks rack up into something potentially nastier for you they'll let you clean your record (and your marks will disappear with time, so if you're good you'll have a clean slate without even ding anything). That's how Jagex thinks anyway, they cant "bring justice" to everybody, there are too many reprots, so they're streamlining it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And one time it was like a month old but it said I did it that day lol. Idk I guess just live with it, you only have an hour and a half of it left anyways. It was for a day correct? If so there really isn't much to do about it. As long as you didn't get any blackmarks you should worry too much about it. Mutes end at 8:00 PM American eastern time; that's why I said he only had an hour and a half left of his mute. Hence the "weirdo" comment, and me mentioning the fact that Jagex likes to cut some things out but include random statements like "im 21def now =p". Either way I don't have any blackmarks...I didn't know that you could get muted without blackmarks(I had 1 tenth of a mark temporarily from the other mute), and it's 7:57 here(EST) so I guess that it will be over in a bit... I logged back in for a few minutes after being unmuted, and just logged in again now to find that I had ANOTHER unappealable 1 day mute, still no blackmarks. A friend of mine asked if I was muted after I used my amazing quick chat faking powers, then he proceeded to laugh at the situation, etc...I said I was muted earlier, he asks why, I point him towards this thread. Log off a short time later, log back in muted(Rule 11 - Advertising). This was actually technically completely deserved as I DID mention the wonderful forums that you're browsing through at the moment... I'm really starting to honestly think that they cut their evidence logs randomly, what with the lending comment...interesting to see that lines in evidence don't get automatically capitalized at the beginning... Anyways, I'm off to go not be angry at Jagex or whoever it is who has a personal vendetta against me.
