Just close your door at night. I used to leave mine open and my dog (60 lbs.) would come up and sleep with me on my bed. I wasn't too mad, but she just hogged the bed big time. Just close your door and BAM problem solved.

Is the 'BAM' in that sentence reffering to the dog running head on into the door? :o

OT: Its probably a bladder infection, like already mentioned....

Why is everyone saying this dog has a bladder infection? The dog pissed on his bed.... Maybe it isn't house broken, or maybe the dog is just stupid.

It most likely is house broken if it is 8 years old. Bladder infections (urinary tract infection) cause the dog to pee frequently, and the poster said that the dog had done it on Monday also, so an obvious possible answer would be bladder infection, wouldn't it? The same thing happened to my dog, she had a bladder infection and was peeing everywhere. Had to get her pee tested and then they had to perform surgery on her once they figured out what it was.

I have a small dog and he always sleeps with me, and he's peed on the bed before 2-3 times I think.

It's never while I'm sleeping though, it's before I go into bed.

I think at least one of the times he was sick or something, because he all of a sudden stood up and started peeing and looking me with the "omg don't hit me" look.

I close my door when I sleep so the other times he was probably thinking "Damn, he didn't let me out yet and now the door's closed."

Just make sure to let him out before sleeping, and make sure he doesn't go to the water bowl afterwards.

Strangely if my dog gets up and has to pee he makes a ruckus and wakes me up to let him out, and hasn't ever peed on the bed then, but on the floor (I don't mind as much as long as I notice before getting out of bed, it's easy to clean up on my floors and I guess it's my fault)

Just get the dog in sleep in a room with a tiled or lino floor, that was its easy to get rid of.

And use an old rugged blanket so it doesn't matter if it pees on it.

And leave an old news paper in there, so it might learn to pee on that, then move it slightly closer to the door everytime and then outside so it learns.

Thats what my nana did.

I have never let a dog sleep, or even be on my bed. I had a friend who let his dog under the covers and I found that to be disgusting when I was 8 years old.

You might try scolding the dog to start with. It won't bother the dog (well, not for for any significant lenth of time), and if you don't tell the dog whats bad it will not figure it out on its own. Other than that, you could try not letting the dog on the bed. Other than that there is nothing you can do short if getting a rubber sheet to prevent any liquids reaching the mattress.

Crazy idea, don't let disgusting animals into the area you sleep? Honesty, sleeping with pets is just begging to get pissed on.

Anyways, BBL OFF TO SLEEP WITH A RACCOON

ok raccoon part made me laugh but i sleep with my cat (door is open and car knowes where litter box is)

Use couch and let your dog have your bed.
