nightshade53
I have a few questions reguarding our beloved GE; I'm trying to learn to merchant. 1) How often does it update prices? 2) Why sometimes when I sell an item for minimum price do I get much more back than the minimum, yet other times I buy items and get 'change'? What decides whether the buyer or the seller gets the cash from the difference in offers? 3) The limits on selling an item after you have bought it? I thought there was a 4 hour period from when you buy an item to when you can sell it; I just bought an obby shield for 310k and sold it immediately for 330k. SHIELZZZ69
Grand Exchange is my favourite thing in the game, makes it so easy for me cause I'm muted. Every few days they update the prices, it depends on the demand. Eg. Rune ess would be going up atm cause lots of people want 50 rc. With the profit bit (2nd question) i think its just evened out? Not too sure. You can buy and sell things are frequently as you want. Gl with G/E w00t 99 Strength Achieved 26/9/08. L0L in 3 years I've made 7m. In the past 2 days I've made 7.2m on top of that thanks to Bounty Hunter. So why play for 3 years when you can do that?
D Jay99
You get whatever is offered for your item. If someone has an offer for max, and you sell min, you get max. If you try to buy something at max, and someone has it for sale at med, you'll get it for med.

If you try to buy something at max, and someone has it for sale at med, you'll get it for med. Not true. It averages it out. If you sell min and someones buys max then then it will go through at the middle value giving the buyer some change and the seller extra. Equally others are talking rubbish, the ge prices update every day. It varies time wise but during evening (GMT) they update. Selling/buying limits only apply to major resources eg runes and ess where you can only buy so many per 4 hours or per day Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
blakdragon39
I don't think anyone really understands what the deal is with getting more than you offered, but I know this for sure: You will never get less gold, on something you are trying to sell, than you asked for. You will never pay more gold, on something you are trying to buy, then you said you would pay.

If I buy something at max, and it doesn't buy immediately, I get no change when it finally buys. Did the guy who sold me the item get med price? If so, where has the rest of the money gone? Also, I've experienced that if an item is high in demand and I sell it at min (I always sell everything at min), I sometimes get max. This pretty much proves your theory wrong. It basically ends up with whoever puts in the earliest offer getting screwed. Go buy a swamp lizard for medium price, and look at how much you actually pay for it. The GE does update every day, but as he said, the exact time varies. The 4 hour resale limit applies to EVERYTHING. I'll just have to assume that you misunderstood something concerning your shield... There is also a limit on how many of certain things that you can buy/4 hours. A few that I know of are... Armour/Weapons - 100/4 hrs Runes - 50k/4 hrs(I think) raw Materials - 10k/4 hrs(again not sure) The only one that I am completely certain of is the 100 limit for armours and weapons, including utility weapons. BiJay
Armour/Weapons - 100/4 hrs Runes - 50k/4 hrs(I think) raw Materials - 10k/4 hrs(again not sure) Well, most traded items have a 25k/4 hours limit (runes, maple logs, ores...). Often traded items have a 10k/4 hours limit (food, feathers...). And not so often traded items have a 100/4 hours limit (weapons, armor, rares...). There are a few special limits for some type of arrows and other things (e.g. anchovy pizzas are 1k/4hours). The GE updates prices every 20-30 hours, normally every day. Not so common traded items update every few days (godswords, masks...). [404] Signature not found.

You can buy only 100 finished products every 4 hours, eg. green d'hide bodies, yew longs and bracelets. You can sell whatever you want to sell without restrictions, providing there are buyers. Also, you can't sell an item within 4 hours after you bought it.
