I recently entered a memberlist on runehead and blocked a keylogger.

About 10 minutes later I get this "Antivirus" pop up on my computer saying I have 3k trojans and other viruses on my computer. I cant get rid of it! Anyone know why?

Its called Antivirus XP 2008

Yeah, I didnt accept it on purpose!

It came up while I was talking on RS and I clicked enter to submit my message and I didnt see it come up

Its made my computer not play RS and its made Firefox magnify this, so now my TIP.IT/RS screen is huge

Get "AVG 8.0"(newest version , requires xp sp2) and "Avast!" , wich is free to ..

Let them both scan at the same time , and you'll (hopefully) be fine

I have used both tutorials on both sites but its screwing with firefox. Firefox now cant get to most pages or download anything. I tried to download the Malbytes or whatever thing but Firefoc cant establish a connection.

My Firefox is still magnified up and I still cant get it away

Whatever you do, do not scan at the same time, and only have 1 anti-virus and 1 anti-spyware active at once (but you can have >1 spyware scanners) as if you let them run at the same time, their definitions will just conflict giving you false positives.

Don't use firefox, use whatever internet browser came with your comp, IE or Safari. Yeah they suck compared to Firefox but the virus is obviously affecting firefox the worst.

That's because the virus changes your hosts file I believe, and redirects your searches and pages if they involve security or antiviruses, etc. It's all an attempt to keep the virus on your computer, and it's a pretty good one too.

Get on another computer, at a friend's house or something, and download all the tools and put them on a CD or Flash Drive (preferrably a small, expendable one, as the virus may transmit itself to the drive). You can then run the app from your drive/cd and remove the virus. Or thats what I had to do, in combination with a Norton emergency cd (you boot from it and it scans your computer before any of the other processes start).

You have to get all your tools from a separate computer, as yours is pretty much useless atm.

So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head? Good job.
What scares me is that you're like 10 years old.
-.- im not that freaking young
You were a couple years ago.
It's not racist if its true.
Hmm... I wonder how one goes about throwing someone out a window in a mystic fashion :-k

The mental image for that is freaking awesome.

I dont have an Anti Virus and I cant download one or load one!

When I put in trend micro internet security my computer was sparking and going off its face.

It was literally sparking

If your actual computer hardware was sparking, you definitely need to get it repaired. Sounds like you shorted something out, but I'm not really sure. However, there's no way any kind of software, be it virus, trojan, or keylogger; could make a computer spark. There's a hardware failure going on. You're going to have to have a professional look at it.

I can't entirely vouch for this, and the suggested auto-remove alternative is somewhat suspect (Not a malware, but guilty of scare tactics, over-hyping "spyware cookies", for instance)

http://spyware-removal-guide.net/66/xpa ... l-removal/

The basic removal hints look reasonable, though I'd say it actually looks too easy - most really good malwares can defend against being stopped.

It hooks an awful lot of start positions though, perhaps that is it's only real defence after all.

That looks more likely, I thought that first one lacked the usual malware convolution... NB. the "Random directory" is the same one each time. It's possible that there are variants, one with minimal hiding and the other with typical malware obfuscation.
