Ranarr Farming Question

Featured Replies

How often do you profit and not loss?

Ive heard its like 1/10 death rate

and average is 6-7 herbs per plant minimum 5

With super compost and Magic

Do you profit most of the time?

Profit is almost 100% its very easy to profit

Will it be harder since for now i can only do 3 patches, so if one dies i pretty much break even unless one of the other 2 plants are really good, since seeds are 20k each

and any advice

Its rare my herbs ever die.

If you do a run with three patches and one seed died youll still probably profit from the others but youll also have high streaks where none die at all so dont be worried if a few die if youre not able to cure them in time.

At a rough guess I'd say 1/12 of my herbs die...

Planting 3 patches and 5 patches is the same % chance of profit.

Not quite as it depends on the patch.

My Arm's Patch will never get diseased so that's always going to be 100% so it depends on if you use that as one of your 3.

You can always use an Amulet of Nature to ensure another patch does not become diseased, although this isn't guaranteed as you could log off/miss the alert.

Trust the Gene Genie!

If your worried about the cost of rannar seeds try toadflax.

They cost around 300gp per seed and each toadflax herb sells for around 2k.

Pretty obvious but as no one else has mentioned it....don't forget to use super compost on all the patches.

You always profit ranarr farming if you use supercompost, so yes you will profit.

If anyone plays NBA Live '08 online on the Wii please PM me. I'm up for anyone.

You can wear an amulet of nature. It yields more ranarrs, and it tells you when they are diseased. Also use super compost, it reduces chance of disease.

It tells you but it doesn't yield more...

Use super compost, use magic sectures... NEVER watch the patch. Accept diseased plants as an inevitebility. With the sectaurs and compost, I've gotten more than seven... Can't remember, it's been a while. Maybe 8 or 9.

Try Ferion, it only takes a few minutes per day; you can play it while mining.
