A gaming computer that laughs at Crysis!

Featured Replies

That's....nice...My year old 3.0ghz Q6600, 8gb ram, 8800gts can run Crysis just fine on very high. (On my 36 inch monitor)

So there. -.-

Whats the point of this, its just a review about some computer and its far from the best.

I would replace the Antec 900 with the 1200 which is a Tower Case as things will be very crowded and throw in 8gb of RAM.

1.5TB may be alot of storage but i would rather get a WD Velociraptor that spins much faster allowing faster load times and boot times.

That processor is decent but I would still get a quadcore, throw it under a TRUE/ water cooling and OC.

I see i see. It's a badly optimized game that isn't much fun after a while.

I don't understand the point of this topic.

I'm gonna go play Pong, much better frame rate than Crysis.

I really enjoyed Crysis when I got around to playing it a month or two ago. Ran at a nice 35FPS for the most part on my rig, except for the last fight which was like 20. This was on all highs, and on a rig that cost me $800. Also 1680x1050 resolution.

You made me laugh out loud. In a crowded study hall. -.-

Anyway, I kinda agree -- this rig is far from the best. I'm not nearly awake enough to begin replacing parts, but when I saw it earlier, I figured I could build a better rig for a little less.

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Damn that site looks bad.

If you have the money to pay for a system like that then you would use a site which looks that bad.

A few things which let it down.

No blueray drive

RAID 0 is very risky

Only 2 cores 8-)

No after market cooler

No extra case fans

Over kill on the psu.

I hate that website. Forever.

They dared use Comic Sans MS as a main font.

Oh god, I can't unsee it now. That's horrible.

Opening this topic i was thinking ok this computer is pry pretty good. Not really. My machine would blow it out of the water.

Try Raid 1 VelociRaptors or a SSD, And SLI GTX 280's.

RAID 1 isn't going to get any speed improvement though. I rather have RAID 0+1, all the speed of 0 but with data security of 1.

I'll take 4 SSDs in RAID 0+1 anyday.

Think he got confused between RAID 0 and RAID 1.

I argee the only RAID I would do if I would looking for performance would be RAID 0+1.

RAID 0 is just to risky without a backup set.

We all enjoy things differently. It was somewhat fun playing, but i haven't played it much after i finished it.

1 month to Far Cry 2 tho, i checked some movies of it today, seems to be really good! Gonna pre-order it soon.

:o RAID 0+1 is what I thought RAID 1 was.
