The PS2 is still getting new console SKU's, and has sold over 5 million consoles this year worldwide, just slightly fewer than the 360 (and more than half of what the DC sold in it's entire life). In the last few weeks, Mercenaries 2, Force Unleashed, Lego Batman and Yakuza 2 have been released, as well as a new SingStar (first party!). And those are just the notable releases. First party support and console production show no signs of slowing down. It is unlikely, but possible that Sony might stop producing first-party titles sometime in 2009, and third-party titles will likely slow down.
