Although the last Britney Spears record isn't that bad, Christina Aguilera is actually pretty good and U2 did make one or two good albums, I wonder what they are doing on a 'best act ever' kind of thing. Not to speak of Green Day and...Tokio Hotel. The fact that Tokio Hotel is on this shortlist really makes me raise an eyebrow. I mean. Tokio Hotel.

copy/paste in browser

3. Install the AddOn

 

 

 

4. Restart Firefox

 

 

 

5. Go to the voting page. ( http://ema.mtv.co.uk/vote/

 

or http://ema.mtv.de )

 

6. Go to the Rec tab of the imacro mod.

 

 

 

7. Click record, then go through the full 3 click motion of voting.

 

 

 

8. Then click Stop.

 

 

 

9. GO back to the play tab of the mod.

 

 

 

10. put a VERY high number (i went with 9001) in the "repeat Macro" field.

 

 

 

11. Click play.

 

 

 

12. Sit back and watch your computer vote over 9000 times.

 

No doubt Rick's gonna win. \'

Mine suddenly stopped working for some reason, I just refreshed the page and it started to work again. I've given him about 1,500 votes so far, it does work :D .

Hi guys,

 

 

 

yeah, MTV fixed up the loophole I was using with curl to get votes in.

 

 

 

Theres currently a program up there that was written by someone else that does over 9000 votes for Rick. The source code is also included if you want to ensure there is nothing nasty happening.

 

 

 

I'll also be posting a bash script using wget for linux guys soon and also a python script that currently works.

 

 

 

If you use any of these methods, please feel free to screenshot how many votes you've done and email them to the email address below, I'm about to start adding a gallery of votes that people are doing so we can at least have some verifiable method incase MTV decide to screw Rick over.

 

 

 

If anyone is good at javascript (or knows anyone that is) I'm looking for some help at the moment so we can get the site back up and running :)

Isn't this what MTV kind of want. Mass publicity for them on the internet? I can't see any other reason for making such a mediocre award with these artists in it.

 

 

 

They knew as soon as Rick Astley appeared on the show the internet crowds would take notice.

Well Phil, you are right. Let's face it, if Rick Astley wins (and he obviously will. The site is so easy to loop votes) it'll be all over youtube, 4chan, and wikipedia (I'm sure there'll be an article about the event, not to mention footnotes in the MTV and other music award articles), and the news. Obviously MTV thought that through, and it doesn't take a genius to realize being "Rick Rolled" is the best thing to ever happen on television. If I'm not mistaken, TNA or WWE or some other wrestling federation had one of their guys rickrolled on TV during one of those little skits they do between matches. It was all over youtube within a day.

 

 

 

But whether MTV wants it or not, it's going to happen. Everyone wants to say they were a part of one of the biggest rickrollings in history, and the fact that it's as easy as downloading a loop or just voting every few minutes while browsing the internet, there's no way it's going to stop. It'll be freaking awesome nevertheless 8-)

 

 

 

As for the looping, unfortunatly I don't have firefox and that javascript doesn't work for me. So I can't get any of them looping things. But I'll vote every time I stop by the site, so I'll be contributing in small ways ;)

i really do hope Sir rick does go to the awards, and performs live. honestly what could be better then that? and if you record it on your tv then u can rick roll your friends on the TV as well =]

Just like getting Katy Perry to present, calling Katie White a witch, appealing to Internet culture, the MySpace charts on MTV2...

 

 

 

I really can't stick MTV. It's awful.
