Griefers:Opinions and Experiences.

What experiences have you had and what opinions do you have about them.I am a griefer in fps multiplayer shooters and MMO's usually because youre playing it for the social experience just as much as the game itself and to test the nerves of the other players can be interesting to say the least.

 

 

 

Exploiting, dominating or just acting absolutely useless thus to render the other players actions null and void can be considered griefing and is something that is a sub community group of any online multiplayer game, so what do you think about...GRIEFERS!!!

They're generally not that bad in my veiw. As long as they don't think keep telling you that teamkilling makes them better than you I dont really care. As long as they're not obnoxious im not bothered, its funny I can see why they do it. I've only really encountered them on COD4, and I've got to admit its pretty funny when you spawn in on HC S&D only to have the whole team RPG'd.

 

 

 

Its when they take it too far that pisses me off, like on COD4 they stay in the party after the game forcing people to leave. People who do it on their own are just [bleep]s. Its understandable to do it with some freinds, it is funny, but doing it on your own just to ruin peoples fun is just [bleep]ed up.

 

 

 

Also people who exploit glitches that give them advantages are the lowest of the low.

The best griefers though do bring a laugh to those there griefing even if it is follow 5 minutes later by "OK IM £^%£%^£ PISSED"

This has to be my favourite griefing video so far.

 

 

 

Griefing is just done for fun really, I've done it a few times, but when it gets to things like hacking and mic spamming, thats just really annoying. Plus, when you're the one being griefed i agree its pretty annoying but thats how the trolls want you to act.

The more someone tries to grief me, the less I get pissed. Frankly I get more pissed at a nooby incompetent teammate than someone who intentionally tries to sabotage. Don't know why exactly, but I think it's because the sheer effort they put into trying to tick everyone off is laughable. Griefers never get to me : although maybe it's because the only MMO I play besides Runescape is COD4, and griefers aren't too common there. But griefers in rs like castle wars players who betray their teammates? Laughable.

If someone is griefing on a server I'll switch, I don't have any tolerance for that.

Exactly. I'm more pissed at the [developmentally delayed] who goes 4-23 and costs us the game than tkers. I think its hilarious when I'm on HC S&D and I see a tker kill someone with their own claymore by shooting it. But I am pissed when its 3-3 and some [developmentally delayed] decides to RPG our team at the start of the round.

 

 

 

But this is only on COD4, I'm not bothered about it mainly because it doesn't count as a death, if it did it would screw up my K/D which I would be pissed at.

This is probably griefing taken to its extreme. Most of you have probably seen it already, the Serenity-now funeral crash:

yeah its pretty funny, me and a few friends used to do it when we played counter-strike together, we never got kicked either probably because we picked on 1-2 people when there was like 5+ other people on the server but every now and again theres someone who thinks they can do this by themselves, they usually get kicked pretty early on

In SSBB, we have griefers, but in all honesty it's quite fun. Most of them play and just taunt all match. If someone disrupts the taunt party by fighting (crashing), everyone gangs up on them. The challenge is then to crash a taunt party, and win a 2 minute point match three times in a row with everyone else against you.

There's another kind though. They're more annoying. A point in SSBB is awarded to the last person to hit the KO'd player, even if the player self-destructs. So you get some idiots who deliberately get hit once, then SD to rig the game. They annoy me so much.

Second Life + giant penises = great fun.

 

 

 

(Take note I would never do this in any other game. I simply do it in second life cause there is no real negative outcome of this in that game. Plus its just very funny for most people)
