Hmm look above priffdinas, could the unreleased area be the entrance and part of priffdinas itself? :-k

Entrance is at the south end, I bet the North end will lead to a different area, as well as a charter ship dock.

If you get information from a dev diary it's a good idea to check it before posting :shame:

RuneScape map squares currently only have four levels (numbered 0-3). Level 0 is ground level, level 3 is typically the roofs of the tallest buildings and the other two levels are different storeys.

0 is ground level, so there's no separate level for dungeons. If there was one, you wouldn't see dungeons, which are on the other side of the map when you're in some cave  so they're all on the ground level, just somewhere away. Probobly north, as it was pointed out already

That's odd I was absolutely positive that I read something about dungeons being on different levels.

It explains how you can see some dungeons which are nearby from other ones though, or maybe they are just all located on a separate map and have to be bunched together?

Could you describe this further?

Some of you may have noticed some mysterious, strange squares in RuneScape. Where, do you ask? Well I'm talking about those none other than on the world map. Go ahead and take a look at them.

Now because i'm saying why you should describe it more is that I can't open world map without my comp crashes and my fire wall goes crazy -.-

If they could load faster....

I honestly can't beleive that there's still discussion going on in this thread! It's so pointless, seriously.

K?

You're basically talking about what the next bit of the map could be. Prifddinas has had quarter of it non-existant for literally years! The squares have just replaced where the black was before. :wall:

Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!

I always assumed these were just areas reserved for future use, like the priffindas (spelling >.<) city thing, areas that have not been completed but have been planned. but this may not be true as many areas have been built where black squares were not.

I do believe however that their was black square over where godwars now stands, but my memory is bad.

pretty much

4000000657th to 99 cookin

555555406th to 99 flethcin

They are areas that haven't been coded for us to use yet. When a new quest or something comes out, a new area will. (Most likely).

Thats pretty well what I assumed, look back, all new areas are coded in those squares, probably to 'reserve' world map space to project how much data the new areas will use to begin to project memory usuage in the future.
