Hide tag issues

Featured Replies

Ok, did something happen with the hide tags? Before you could have nested tags:

[hide=hiding hide tags]maybe an intro here, maybe not

[hide=inside the hiding tags]more detailed information[/hide]

[/hide]

But when you do that, you get:

[hide=hiding hide tags]maybe an intro here, maybe not

[hide=inside the hiding tags]more detailed information[/hide]

[/hide]

So what's going on? Am I missing something?

I wish them put them back in too, but it's not coming back. TIF took it back a while ago, because they didn't want quote pyramids or something...

I don't know why they just don't allow up to put up to 1 or 2 extra hides...

Ah, thanks for that information, Kent.

There's actually a bit more to this story at current. Further, this is the WRONG FORUM for these posts. I'm requesting a move to "Forum Updates & Suggestions", NOW... :ugeek:

Moved.

It's nothing to do with us not wanting people to pyramid 'quotes or something'.

It's to do with the phpbb3 code, it doesn't allow for hide tags to be nested inside each other.

I'm sure it's trying to be fixed but if I remember rightly it's quite difficult.

Sorry for the wrong area, I didn't think it was an update or suggestion, just a question on why it's like that.

And thanks for that, Pryomancer.

Vulxai, just a tip... Always check the forum board descriptions, as they provide helpful info on where to put a thread... "Forum Updates & Suggestions" is also for 'Discussion of Forum Issues'... Just thought you might like to know. ::'

This is because the old hide tag was [hide] and the new one is [hide=]... :(

You could do it with either in phpbb2.

I hope we can do hide inside hide tags later on. It was a great feature.. Also, isn't there 2 or 3 other topics on the same subject?

Ah, this is something that is extremely difficult to fix. The only way I see is to have the PhpBB team fix it themselves as it's deep inside the coding.
