Tried to draw Sun in Ms Paint. I gotta say that it looks alright, but it's far from great. Hope you guys like it if not alot, but a tiny bit.

As you can see: there is flaws, but please do not get all hanged up on it. I wanna see some comments why it's good first, before i see the comments about why it's bad #-o

Yes i did

If you used it, then anyone can make a sun like this in 5 minutes.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Generally, people frown upon using the spray can. It's preferred if you do it pixel by pixel.

I'd say using the spray can is alright if you use it in moderation and only for things like sand, especially if you're just starting out, but I really think this is overkill. Besides, it doesn't actually look like the sun, or at least not in the way we see it from earth. I'm not sure you wanted to make it look like that, but chances are you're only going to pixel a sun in background of other scenes, where it would look like some bright circle more than anything else.

Spray can, lame. Also it doesn't look spherical it looks flat.

I gotta say, you guys are killing me! Cut me some slack, i know it's lame but you could try to be nice and give some compliments lol.

Anyhow ty for feedback. I will consider pixel for pixel, but i am not that good atm.

It's not really a case of being good, as such, it just takes a lot of patience.

Pixels can take ages.

I was thinking to do a simple pixel: Example make a Viking helmet and shade it.

Nvm.

Don't be discouraged, I think it's pretty good for someone who's just started.

The best advice I was given as an artist was to always draw what you see, not what you think you see.

If I hadn't seen it before, I'd know this was a pixel of the sun.

Try doing some textures next, do a little brick wall or something with moss growing on it.

spacescenev24.jpg

and if you ever want pixel related advice im always here 8-) but i must say that if you must pixelize a scientific picture of the sun rather then the bright white hole in the sky, get a lot more experience under your belt because anything like that is very complex.

Pixel Signature Made By Me.

The actual Sun has flares coming off it, and an aura.

Like this one:

I know this one is green, it's just been shot in ulta-violet light. Look at the swirls and currents on the surface, try to emulate that.

The Sun has a huge magnetic field, you can see it there in the solar flares, capturing that would be cool as well.

Thanks for that Pyro and Cow. For now i will retreat, but i promise next time i post a thread on Gallery. It will be a pixel, not a great one, but one that deserves to be seen and i will use good time on it.

But first i gotta train on shading, and some other aspects of pixels :D Thanks.

Vikings are always good

Just practice. A lot. I probably make/start 100 pixels to every one I call finished.

Any other guides ( Expect ones on tip.it sticky) is appreciated. About shading and other aspects of pixels :)

I'm not a Pixel Artist, but I would suggest looking on deviantART, they have heaps of Tutorials there. Just search "Pixel Tut".

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
