Need some help with farming

Featured Replies

As the title says. Im kinda noob to farming only lvl 48 but I have herd that herb farming can bring in some nice extra cash. I am currently going for 85/85/85 by slayer so I figured I might as well try to bring in some more money.

So, my question is at my lvl is there any herbs that I can buy the seeds and still make money off of? If so which herbs and do I have to check them for diseases? Or can I completly forget about them till they are ready to be picked?

If there isnt a herb at my lvl which lvl should I go for?

I planted ranarrs(lvl 32 needed) and pineapples until 62.Just use the 4 normal patches, complete My arm's quest for the disease-free patch. You might aswell grow pineapples (they're rather cheap; 5 spots in total, 4 are easier to get . 4 x 12.4k =~50k every 14 hours).Get 62 so you can farm snapdragons.3 snap herbs died from 47 so far. They're great xp/money in-between tasks.Don't go to the patch from a slay task just to save a 25k seed. The death:harvest ratio is rather good.

NOO! Don't farm ranarrs! You'll have to pay real close attention in case it dies! Farm toadflax, it's only 600gp per seed but yields 2k per herb. For your allotments, nasturtiums and watermelons or strawberries are best.

At your level do toadflax. I am 63 farming and I continue to do toadflax simply because farming exp from herbs is minimal, and your profit per seed compared with snaps and toadflax isn't a huge difference so I choose to keep the toadflax's.

As for whoever suggested Pineapples as well you have your math a bit wrong there (I think) I am no farming expert but since when did a single Pineapple tree give 12k exp? Its 4,605.5 exp per seed (courtesy of Tip.It's skill guide) So 4 x 4,605.5 = 18,422 exp every X amount of hours. (I think you said 14)

Apparently, my signature was to big.

Toadflax and marigolds for max profit. I check after every long task(1 hour+) and it's great cash.

Buy up all the pineapples in Catherby, then turn them all into supercompost. Using supercompost on a patch greatly reduces the chance of it dying from disease, and increases your herb yields to boot. Also, don't forget to wield the Magic Secateurs when picking your crops.

Toadflax has the largest percentage of profit increase, something like what Smither, 600%?

If you want extra Experience plant trees and let them sit while you pay a farmer to look out for them. Great xp went from 15 to 42 very fast while i couldent play more that 30 minutes a day because of football camp.

Pureprayer, you're awesome.

I was talking simply about the costs involved. For how much xp pineapple trees give I'd say use them also.

3/47 snapdragon seeds died so far, from 200.So atleast in my opinion snaps are worth growing.

Do ranarrs and marigolds for cash. Don't worry about having some dead ranarrs. I've done the data collection and the math. 1241 herbs from 212 seeds, including 28 deaths. Including deaths, thats an average of 5.854 herbs per seed.

Profit per seed = number of herbs x price of herbs - price of seed

profit per seed= 5.854 x 6k - 22.2k

profit per seed= 12.9k

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more profitable seed. Even if you don't babysit ranarrs, you still get the best profit for herbs at your level. Only switch to snapdragons at level 63. Then you'll be making a lot more money.

They vary a lot. The first 100something seeds I planted yielded over 7.5 herbs/seed, but lately they've been dying a lot, this week no runs without deaths yet, 2 runs with 3 deaths and an average of 5.5 herbs/seed :-#

If you want safe money, just go for toadflax. If you want slightly more profit and xp at the cost of more expensive seeds, do ranarrs, snaps once you reach 62.
