goku_nazz
It's up to 53 deaths now :( I guess the death toll isn't that bad, 53 people die in Africa like every minute, but it's still unnecessary deaths.. them damn terrorists Their motive is simply to scare the western world, especially at the eve of the G8 summit
Pigstein
The thing it is it VEEERY easy to make an terrorist attack.. and very hard to prevent it from happening. There are so many "holes" in the security systems. E.G: I know for a fact that excess baggage isn't searched.. Like when you have too heavy or too much baggage a part of is taken away and flown over to your destination on a another flight (for a cost). This baggage is SELDOM checked. All you would have to do is put a bomb in one and you can either blow up the airplane or the warehouse where the excess baggage is sent to ( the excess baggage is sent to a warehouse near the airport where you can pick it up later).. This is just one of the HUGE holes in the security system.. I know plenty of ways to abuse it. But I understand that is very hard to prevent strikes on the public. It is very hard to spot the terrorist out of the public, especially if he uses public transport etc.. it's impossible for everyone to be searched etc.. and it is extremely inconviniant to put metal detectors on bus's or the underground (metro). So it is practically impossible to prevent strikes On the innocent. Unless you somehow are able obtain intelligence from the terrorist cell etc.. The only way that's gonna happen is someone can infiltrate the cell.. or has some idea of who is a part of it. Finding that out is very hard. Dontknowyet
Just stating that people shouldnt be saying that these act of terror are only been done by "terroists" when you look at what america, england and AUSTRLIA did in iraq, and other countries. im australian before any of you ask. im not saying that the iraq war was a bad thing. but what we did isnt much better from what they are doing now. and dont say we gave them warning, because would you rather know if your going to die or die instantly.. Dontknowyet
I didnt have no arguement with you yesterday because this only happened last night for me so yeah. im not blaming anyone, im just sick of reading how people saying how low it is for people to do this... and if this thread is to reflect on what has happened why do people talk about 9/11??? Read the locked thread, or you're going to have an argument with all of us NOW. As for the 9/11 thing... I guess because there are people claiming this was done by the same (organisation of) people who flew planes into the WTC and the Pentagon. Sidenote: one question mark is enough, and believe me, using a spell checker really isn't that hard.

Phil
Lets not get this topic sidetracked by discussing some theory about the pentagon. There was a police conference this morning at 11 and they said there are over 50 people dead and 700 injured.
assassin_696
I heard the injury toll had reached the 1000 mark :( But that might have been wrong. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
How2PK
I don't see the point of discussing it so soon and when the wounds are fresh. So I'll just offer my condolences to those who've lost friends, family, teachers, pet's or w/e you've lost. I hope things can be figured out soon. SAGE
Yes, very sad incident. My uncle's house is extremely close to one of the bombings but he came back here to Australia 2 weeks ago. Alot of speculation about Australia being the next target with us being the second biggest ally to the U.S, of course England being the first. But back on topic, I hope they find the terrorists and sentence them to a lethal injection or put them in a bus with an explosive......closing my mouth now. Can someone say France not winning the games, ha...ha. Another conspiracy most likely to be exploited by the media sooner or later.

I agree, and disagree. What these countries are currently doing in Iraq is terrible, and noone can say otherwise. Hundreds of innocent civilians being killed...no matter what, is a terrible thing. However, I believe that this is a sacrifice towards a better world, rid of terrorists. In Iraq, the purpose of it as displayed in the media is to create a better world for us all. Terroist attacks are just that, terrorism. Such groups admit it, they admit being a terrorist organization. All they are here to do is cause mass destruction and chaos, nothing more. They are not solving anything by fighting, not in the least bit. You can say something similar about Iraq (to all the anti Bush fans out there) but you still have to admit, at least the tiniest bit of progress has been made. Terrorists aren't solving a thing, and they are attacking rich nations at that. Iraq is a third world country, and although we should be helping them rather than attacking them, it still remains that, a third world country. Poverty, disease, inequality, and the list goes on. War is expected in such countries, although it is a terrible thing. The Western world is much more advanced, civilized and developed (in most cases) and this is exactly why it is such a shock to see attacks - that aren't nearly as bad as whats going on in the Middle East- happening so close to our homes. Terrorists main goal (imo) is to do exactly what they did yesterday - causing chaos and panic once more, world wide. They have successfully re-established themselves as being fearless, and still able to live today, despite George Bush's efforts to "smoke them out of their holes" They have proven that they are still alive and in power, and that it'll take more than bombing Iraq to stop them. Btw on the spelling, I believe they should be referred to as Al Qaeda, but various sources also note the group as Al Qaida. So I guess, take your pick..just thought I'd let ya know, kinda confusing to see all these random spellings of it on this topic! Also, whats up with Osama Bin Laden? On the spelling I mean...isn't it Usama Bin Laden? I dunno...someone needs to sort it out. Two spellings of Al Qaeda/Qaida, Two spellings of Osama/Usama. Bmw

Bmw Terrorist claim they are ridding the world of the great evil of capitalism. Just like we don't agree with them, they won't agree with us that what's happening in Iraq is an improvement on the way the world works. It's a bit hypocritical to claim we're better than them just because of that. There's something else which was already mentioned in the other topic - the US/UK/Australia and all the other armed forces in Iraq are not making civilian casualties on purpose - terrorists are. To me, that's what separates the armed forces occupying Iraq from being terrorists themselves. On a sidenote, I did not and do not agree with the war in Iraq, but that's another topic entirely ;).
