geekoverlord
You all should remember that when the Dragon Medium Helm was released, the prices were way high, and people just like you were ranting about how they were being overpriced and manipulated by the rich merchants of the time. Back then, the GP was worth more, and 4 years ago, items above 5m were considered expensive, and now when we see a new item come out for 5m, that is extremely dirt cheap. Why is this happening? Inflation in the RuneScape economy over time. So when we talk about items from 4 years ago, they are directly related to today's items. Now, some of the last of the dragon armor is being released, most notably, the Dragon Platebody. Everyone here is complaining how it is so "overpriced." All you should remember that 4 years ago the rich merchants (AKA today's Jagex through the G.E.) raised prices extremely high for the Dragon Medium Helm, and eventually, the prices fall. Dragon Med Helm is now extremely cheap, and the same will happen for the Dragon Platebody. The exact same cycle happens for every dragon item release and always will.Deal888 THANK YOU! I remember back when i worked all day to get my first million to buy a D med...They're 60k now. However, i do think dragon is a little overpriced. I say drop the full set a few million, or upgrade the stats so it's worth the cost, or, like that one dude said, turn into a dragon and OMFGPWN somthing in a random special attack. Ravenkana
Meh...for Dragon Armor to not be scoffed at by the general public, Barrows has to become more expensive to maintain. Personally, I love my dragon armor but when I'm doing slayer tasks, stats are more crucial than looks. (By the way, does anyone else hate the look of just about all Barrows Armor? Blech!) I'd like it if ALL dragon-based armor became just as hard to get. (Ie you need a Ruined Dragon Plateskirt, dragon lumps, etc plus a 99 smither to make them.) The hardest armor to get that is PERMANENT should be a bit more difficult to achieve. Even level 80's can mage Steel Dragons with virtually no risk if they're willing to spend just a bit of time. What about Bandos? Or Third Age? Both have superior stats and Bandos is cheaper as well as containing a useful strength bonus and a small prayer. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
darkjab
*looks at the drop in price of the Platebody* Ok! It is dropping! Never gonna sell it though, it holds a special nostalgic value for me. I just need the full helm back and a kite shield now.
NukeMarine
What bites is that Jagex could have made D Med and D Chains (and in the future, D Kite) retain value if they made so that you needed a D Med to smith a D Full or a D Chain to smith a D Plate. So now, the d chain and d med drop to even lower prices when a little foresite could have helped out all players. I like this idea, although I think that the pieces for smithing the Dragon Full Helm should still only be dropped by Mithril Dragons/burning Chewed Bones. Triquos
I think dragon will become the new rune, and 3rd age will become the new dragon. Already the d chain is dropping from the interest in d plates now. It's only going to get worse, and sooner or later Jagex will HAVE to bring out some level 80 - 99 req. armour :P

It's only going to get worse, and sooner or later Jagex will HAVE to bring out some level 80 - 99 req. armour :P IMO this is what NEEDS to happen. Dragon needs to stop being looked at as a symbol of wealth and used as what it is. A level 60 armor. If Jagex was smart they would increase drop rates for a short time on all dragon armor so it drops and is easily affordable. People would then actually be able to use it and 60 defense would be a useful level. With PVP back keeping your defense at 60 and using full dragon could be a good strategy but only if prices drop far enough that you aren't the target of everything.
