uterquechaos
I'm totally new in f2p, and feel that I'm leveling very slowly. Is there a guide here that show where and how I can level as effective as possible? A leveling guide for beginners. I'm a ranger with lvl20 ranged so far, lvl15 combat and lvl 1 defense :/ (How does defense go up?) Didn't stand a chance against the stinkin vampire in Draynor manor, and lost my funny hat :( I got in special encounter with a weird hunter that sent me to a glade to kill a 3 tailed birdie. Anyway, help please?
Serpent Eye
Tip.It offers many guides for all skills on their Skill Guides page. Most of their guides offer advice as to how to level up, and locations to use for certain levels. Is there a specific skill you're needing help with? And as far as Defense, for most weapons, there is a Defense option in the Attack style menu. It is a skill, just like any other. It doesn't increase unless you train it. Feel free to message me in-game! My character name is Serpent Eye. I'm not F2P, but I love helping other people out when I can. :) And welcome to TIF! They pop up....well...randomly, usually when you are doing something the same for a long time, without clicking much (cooking, woodcutting, fishing. When completed (most are really easy) you get some special clothes, or a (small) reward. As for levelling help, check out the beginners guide on this site. It is very good, shows you all kinds of hints, tips and tricks to get you started. Good luck and welcome to the game, and tip.it! Other data was removed when acoount got hacked... forestfrolic
You can get that hat back. Just be patient. And welcome to RuneScape. I remember when I first started, had the same questions. You just have to dabble around and learn as you go. The best part of the game, for me that is, was when I was newb. Pure adventure. Cheers! x You can PM me in-game if you wish at, D____U____X. uterquechaos
Tnx all! I've been reading some now, but I still havn't found a guide that shows me this: where to lvl ranged 20 and up, and against what monsters . what skills should be at what lvls when doing certain quests. e.g. vampire, dragon and demon. so you don't have to die unnecessarily. I read the ranged guide in beginning guides and like it, but it stops at lvl20. I hope it will be finished :)

Serpent Eye
A guide I found suggested killing cows at the Crafting Guild for levels 20-30. Don't know if there's any validity in this, though.. It then suggests going to the Barbarian Village pub next, for 30-40.
Opieous
Yes, kill cows south of Falador East Bank and bank the cow hides. They sell for 100 each. U'll have some money by the time u hit 40. Heres a map: Can't F2P use the spot just north of lumbridge (near the mill) with the deposit box right next to it? Yes F2p can use the Gnomecopter deposit boxes. That is the fastest way of banking cow hides in F2p I have found. P.S. to topic author, my Runescape Name is: Legil galad2 if you have any questions about F2p (A long time F2p'er myself :) Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees. Opieous
Can't F2P use the spot just north of lumbridge (near the mill) with the deposit box right next to it? Yes, f2p's can use the deposit boxes north of lumbridge, but the quantities of cows is quite less and they are far apart. I've tested the method myself   99 Woodcutting | 99 Constitution | 99 PrayerScapin since July 05'
mikeybeech
I trained my range from 20-40 [in f2p] on roaches in the stronghold of whatever it is.. [cant remember which one..] or on minutaurs in the other stronghold. you could also kill chickens to collect feathers, or train on hill giants. Make sure if you do hill giants you bring some food for emergencies [like 3 lobs] WELCOME TO RUNESCAPE!!! if you need anything feel free to add me and ask for help [mikeybeech] Im currently a member, although i would be more than happy to help you out. legilgalad2
minotaurs are in stronghold of security, you go down hole in barbarian village, hill giants are in the edgeville dungeon Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees. Video_Tycoon
Can't F2P use the spot just north of lumbridge (near the mill) with the deposit box right next to it? Yes, f2p's can use the deposit boxes north of lumbridge, but the quantities of cows is quite less and they are far apart. I've tested the method myself   Yes, but wouldn't that be better when ranging?? You won't get hurt as much. Also, you wonder about defense, you can train it while training range, you go to the two swords in the interface (By the inventory button) and choose longrange, it gets you both range and defense experience points.
