I got a task for aberrant spectres and I'm wondering if I should prayer them or use mage defense.

Which should i do?

Well you cant use a bunyip so I suggest praying, just bring 2 prayer potions and a holy wrench.

I have similar levels to you and i prefer praying, i find they hit too hard without prayer.

 

 

 

If you have a slaying ring and 61 agility you might want to take food as it will be cheaper though.

Also, if youre praying and only pick up high leveled herbs you should be getting at least 3 ranarr a trip and the occasional triple ranarr drops so you dont lose any money on prayer potions and you'll profit from all the other herbs you picked up.

Pray, but get rid of your stole. Get a salve amulet ((e) preferred) instead. It raises your attack and strength by 15% (20% for (e)) against undead monsters. I believe it gives +3 prayer as well.

I only have a regular salve ammy and plenty of super strengths and attacks so i perfer the 10 prayer bonus

 

 

 

edit- already got 3 rannars, 2 avantoes and a kwarm and only used 1 ppot sofar

get it enchanted anyways (even though I strongly recommend that you use the unenchanted one instead of the stole).

 

it's a lot more helpful than 10 more prayer bonus which only gives like a second more

I'm doing all that atm except the macaw and defender but all I have is an addy defender because I lost my rune one in pvp. Next load when I buy more house teles I'll get some macaw pouches.

With my stats (see sig), black dragonhide body+chaps, fury, slayer helm, barrows gloves, whip+rune defender, 22 monkfish, my 75 prayer points to pray magic at the end, and a bunyip I can kill 100-120 spectres in a run before I have to go back and bank in Canifis. Using prayer potions negates any profits you might get from kwuarm/ranarr/dwarf weed drops which is why I don't use them.

 

 

 

Use Rune Defender over that crummy shield because the accuracy boost of the defender will help you hit the spectres more often which makes them die faster. This in turn means less chances of taking damage. The shield should just be sold in the GE cuz it's worthless.

And you're talking about losing profit from using a few prayer potions while you leave about 70k+ worth of high leveled herbs on the ground? Lol.

Swap the initiate for monk's to save a few kg of weight (and save a small bit if you die). The melee defence doesn't do you any good.

Prayer.

 

 

 

Use proselyte if possible, and a glory/fury.

Get slayer helm.

 

use the black mask bonus instead of enchanted (e) so you can wear a fury.

 

 

 

If you use a god book, take a zammy one, you sont need defence anyways. If you decide to get a rune defender, it's better the a prayer book. IIRC, proselyte gives better prayer bonus then monks robes, +1 I think.

 

 

 

Do not sell the elemental shield, it is a clue item. It can be very hard to get (trus me I made myself a new one because on the GE I couldn't buy one...) and if you do clues it might come in handy.

If you have access to slayer ring, use slayer ring and dueling ring.

Use cheap food, almost full inventory, but not completely ( use trout).

Take one dose of superdefence, super att and super str.

Get a full load of herbs/nice stuff, or just empty your food.

 

 

 

If you have cactus, tele sometimes to Al Kharid with the dueling ring, to pick some cactus spines (9k profit), then bak to castle wars.

 

 

 

Bank. Cheap food. One dose super att/def/str.

 

 

 

rinse and repeat.

 

 

 

200-300k+ per task profit.

 

 

 

3 rounds tops. Last round you can finish with your regular prayer points if you are close to finishing but run out of food.
