Crushing Weapon

I'm interested in getting a decent crushing weapon that has high-ish crush, good str bonus, and is relatively cheap (so not the zammy spear :roll: )

 

 

 

I'm considering the obby mace + necklace combo, but I'm open to any other suggestion. I still have a few quests before I can do Hero's, so the d mace is out for now.

Tzhaar-ket-om(obsidian maul) is a great choice,hits pretty good,95 Str bonus,also requires only 60 Str to wield,and is about 300k only.

Agreed. It really is a semi decent weapon without the set. The anchor is slow as hell, but a decent choice as well.

Hmm...I'm not wholly liking the fact that you have to repair barrows, but maybe when I get a house a workshop I'll be able to save a bit.

using the the barrows while in constant for an hr costs only

After seeing numerous threads about this in many different forums... If you're using this for Waterfiends:

 

 

 

SS can be considered better than Z spear, but has low Crush. If you're low level, definetely use Z spear. It's a small difference, though.

 

 

 

SS>=Anchor>Flail> The rest, IE: don't bother.

 

 

 

Obby fails, you NEED accuracy. Repair costs of Barrows can be ignored, it's very cheap to repair.

Anchor is better than the flail? How's the speed difference on the two and compared to other weapons?

 

 

 

I also don't see why people favour the zamorak spear so much for crushing when the flail has quite a bit more crush and only 3 less strength.

 

 

 

So how's the anchor in comparison with the flail?

Zammy spear > flail I have tried both zammy spear is well worth it

 

 

 

flail >,<,= Anchor depending on your stats, if you have high attack (85-90+) use anchor over flail.

Anchor for good hits, Either Ahrim staff or Verac flail for effectiveness, and dragon mace for awesome specials :thumbsup:

 

 

 

I would recomend you to get 1mil and buy zammy spear though, but is up to you

Doesn't Dharok's Greataxe have higher crush and strength than either the flail or anchor?

I know this thread was from a while ago, but I've learned more about the world of membs since the and have gathered a little bit more of an outlook on things.

 

 

 

So let's compare some of the weapons:

 

 

 

Obby Maul: If I were to use it with the necklace, my accuracy would drop a considerable amount, but I would have a ridiculously high hit. This might be my choice for a KO weapon during important boss fights (Could have used it during that stupid haunted mine quest -.- ) or PVP like everyone else does. However, it's terribly slow.

 

 

 

Granite Maul: A slightly weaker version of the obby maul. I won't have the crazy 20% bonus to dmg with the obby maul, but this has a deadly spec. I'm still leaning towards the obby maul though. Anyone got comments that would suggest otherwise? Slightly cheaper too.

 

 

 

Verac's Flail: A very decent weapon. A very high bonus, a mediocre str bonus, and nifty prayer bonus. Very cheap.

 

 

 

Zammy Spear: I'm torn between this weapon and the flail. The spear is a bit faster and as a tiny bit more str, but the flail has a considerably higher crush bonus. This also has the added bonus of defence in most areas. Very expensive for my standards (I've got about 200K right now). I think the flail wins out for now.

 

 

 

Anchor: I don't have the required quests, but it seems like quite an attractive option. Massive crush bonus and str bonus while still being faster than either maul. Sorta expensive to replace and crazy heavy.

 

 

 

For now, I'm thinking of the flail for my crushing weapon while the granite or obby maul is my KO-PVP-Boss fight weapon. The flail has a good combination speed, crush bonus, and strength while still not breaking the bank. Any other suggestions?
