Treasure Trail Rewards.....

Since becomming a member, much of my time has been spent on trying to obtain clue scrolls. It wouldn't be an exageration to say that i have done 1000's. My rant is of the rewards, out of these 1000's of clues i have never had a reward worth more than 600k... Just what am i doing wrong?

 

 

 

Most of these are lvl 3 clues btw. Ive asked jagex they say its just random, but the harder the clue, the better the reward, wich is bs, cos i done one once that was puzzles at every clue, the hardest one ive even done, and i got 3 rune pickaxes. and if not for this site, most lvl3 clues would take ages.

 

 

 

 

 

please can you try and answer these 3 questions to the best of you ability.

 

 

 

1. If every reward is random how can some items be considered 'extremely rare'

No such thing as random in a logic-based computer game. Statistically speaking, you are very unlikely to obtain certain items, making them 'rare'.

It's your imagination, or to be more specific, your human brain attempting to find and recognize patterns where there is none. Clue drops are too rare to ascertain a pattern from just a few drops, but your brain tries to anyway.

Not so far as we know, I would assume not.

By 'the harder the clue', they mean level 3 have better rewards then level 2 etc.

Nothing. Clues are garbage. They are a waste of time, not worth doing and certainly not worth farming. Send an appeal in to Jagex to beef up rewards, or leave the scrolls on the ground.

um yes i have, ive been a member for 2 years, and ive averaged 2 clues a day. Sometimes more...its litterally all i do.

Thousands... just no. By thousands you probably mean 2000 or more and even farming clues and having every bit of equipment and knowledge it would take AT THE VERY LEAST one hour to get and finish a clue scroll so you are saying you have spent more time then my whole runescape career on clue scrolls and got nothing over 600k? (which I have got a 1mil reward clue so now I really do feel sorry for you)

 

(and answering number 2, that isn't the monster dropping them slower, its your boredom making it seem longer until time is dragged on the ground with no legs)

Luck implies randomness (i.e "an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that causes an event to result one way rather than another"); probability is a better word. Believe me, I hammered this out in SirHemen's clan chat :lol:

Random, as in, a lack of order, purpose, cause, or predictability. Utterly impossible to produce in a computer, as it a logical system; the only thing that can achieve close to that is something like a thermal noise measurement, which is not in and of itself a part of the computer system. A computer cannot produce a random number, period.

no! cut the crap with the debate about true randomness in computers! this debate comes up every couple months! it's utterly pointless as their system is close enough to random that it works. even if there is a pattern to their pseudo-random number generator, it probably repeats only at huge quantities.

Because 'logic' and 'randomness' are complete opposites. If the drops were 'random', you could do a billion clues and get, say, 1 robin, then do a billion more and get 900 million. However, somewhere in Jagex towers is a number defining what your chances of a robin are - if they are 1 in 100, and you do 1 billion clues, you will get almost precisely 10 million robins. This means that the system is ordered, logical, and operating on probability, not 'random luck'. It simply appears that way with too small of a sample size.

well maybe be4 clues is easy moneymaker for the lower lvls. but now(higher lvl) its much better to get money in an other/faster way and buy that traisure trail item that u want so hard...

 

but besides the rewards, i find clues a fun thing u can do between ur slayer tasks or powertraining, u run around a little, talk to some pll etc even the puzzels are fun(personally). but yea if u see the time u spend at it and the cash u make its better to leave on the ground if ur monsterhunting

nope i havent, ive burn most of them to get the last k's of xp for my cape and drops a couple now i got like 80 left (in total)

I did ankous from 80 though to 95 combat (mostly because money was ok at that lvl there), plus through slayer, I heard jelly's are a sure thing, no no no, nothing will give me one. #-o
