You could argue that the few extra pts won't make a difference (say +5 more in all defence stats) but then again, what would be the point? Rune is a good armour as it is. It is still used pretty often in p2p. In fact, rune armour is way too cheap for what it is.

 

(I know, barrows is also way too cheap for what it is, but that is another discussion)

 

I agree with you on this one , and about the hitting your very correct since you won't be that lucky even with 99 att vs 99 def in f2p rune (that's why high levels used to / still use to do no arming so they can ACTUALLY hit.) :)

Why would Jagex need to show more respect to F2P? You are given the opportunity to play a game for FREE, and if you want more, you'll need to pay. What exactly is wrong with that?

 

 

 

And no, F2P does not "deserve" new armour. They don't "deserve" anything. Doesn't mean Jagex can't give F2P updates. Sure they can. Wouldn't bother me at all aswell. But there's no such thing as "deserving". That's just greed.

 

 

 

Next to that, due to the fact that F2P is a demo, it's highly unlikely that F2P will get better armour, ever. Jagex would say you'd need to pay in order to access better armour. And can't really blame them for that.

I seriously doubt F2P would get any new strong armor, it would throw off what little balance there is to the combat triangle. Powering up all three combat way may even it out, though.

melle armor in f2p can max out near 220 def bonuses. And with 40-50 attk bonuses that takes up alot of damage. So youll be attking with your rune scimmy hit 0-0-0-6-0-19-0 and they have already eaten back to full hp. Rune armor is to good for its level requirments

Range owns in F2P. With rune+scimitar, I can barely kill a level 86 without taking heavy damage. With Range I can kill him in matter of seconds.

Rune armour is just fine the way it is. It's hard enough to hit through it with a rune scimitar/battleaxe, so if Jagex would make armour that's even stronger then rune for F2P, you'd see blue dots all the time! And you see enough of those already on a person wearing full rune. :?

As I already stated, why don't you shut this thread down and go make one on improving mage armor and weapons.

The biggest problem is a f2per will wear full rune and rune scimmy, the scimmy will tear through dhide or mage robes. while the scimmy vs full rune is still inecective. people need to realize rune armor is WAY to overpowered for its level.

hmm probably not melee armour, unless its granite or something but up to rune arrows/yew shortbow for range while mage gets splitbark and wave/snare. I'm p2p but i still think f2p needs to updated... we get so much updates its not funny yet if f2p gets an update like explorers ring everyone starts complaining. Guys, you don't want me to start on how much more p2p has than f2p. They might not pay, but they are all potential customers. Therefore updating f2p isn't a "waste of time"

Really. There is only 1 set of armour in any combat method that anyone uses. Those are Rune, D'hide, and RC robes. So much for that.

f2p certainly doesn't need more melee armor

Its not extremely important that f2p ranged gets new armor, but f2p mage definitely needs some more.

It's not cheap to run such a huge server. And i would resent paying my membership costs for f2p to get an update. I don't mind if they get to join in on updates that members get....but an update aimed specifically for f2p? is that a joke? sorry, I don't buy it.
