I dont know.

I think my brother might consider getting this, so I might go around and play if he does

Imo though, this is one of those games that shouldve stayed arcade exclusive.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Why? Especially considering that the only arcade cabinets are Japanese made (or imported, which is crazy expensive).

The arcade scene in the U.S died a long time ago.

I dunno really, to me, some games I see, I just think "wow, kinda lame they released it for (xx) console.."

Tbh, I think its for the genuine-ness of the game.

Plus, a game like this and Tekken 6 that came out for arcade sometime ago could, for all you know re-open arcades.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

That's stupid. Even in the golden age of arcades we had arcade games ported to consoles. Every single street fighter has been on a console as well as arcade. I can't even think of a good arcade game that wasn't on some console.

So I have no idea why it is lame they released a very popular game for a popular console(s). Being able to play online is much better than playing against what would probably be the 5 people in kansas. (Not to mention that with the arcade scene as it is currently Capcom would not make much money)

I thought it was quite a few years

if not scrap this

Street Fighter was released to arcades in 1987, and the console version came in 1988. [1]

Anyways the problem with arcades hasn't been the lack of games to play, but the exhorbant prices. It used to be someone could end up paying a quarter per game, maybe two quarters for the really good ones. These day's you'd be lucky not to have to pay 75 cents to a dollar for a game that might last 5-10 minutes. It's just not worth it.

There are still arcades out there that are doing well because they make their money through other means other than the machines. One place I know of has an adult hours where they serve beer after a certain hour, and it does well.

So it doesn't really matter. And, honestly, while arcades can be a lot of fun I wouldn't want to go to an arcade each time I want to play a game. It just doesn't work today, especially with how easy connecting to others through the internet is.

Although Brawl and Street Fighter of the same genre, they are apples and oranges (cliche plawks) - totally different from each other, and are not meant to be compared.

Street Fighter IV and Brawl are both pretty good games, yet people can button-mash through both of them, but you cannot button-mash against experienced players in either game. Both take skill, and both have their fanbases and targeted age groups.

Well

Street fighter is still much more button mashable if I remember correctly.

There's nowhere to run >_>

But then again brawl is full of little whiney kids.

Just wait for those on SF. :P

I wasn't trying to compare the two, Ray was. It's laughable really, considering SF4 is very much for tournaments and competition play and Brawl is just for screwing around. Brawl has a lot more RNG (Random Number Generator) mechanics in it where as SF4 has no RNG mechanics that I can think of.

Really you would be hard pressed to button mash in SF4 even through some of the easiest arcade modes, let alone online. Trust me, save for the easiest difficulty anything from easier on up is pretty impossible to button mash at.

What do you mean there is no where to run? :) A lot of classes have a way of getting out of something, especially against a button masher. Button mashing means you set yourself up for counters, all it takes is one block + Focus attack to knock you down. Or if you play some of the classes they have a teleport function, such as Akuma/Bison/Dhalism and more classes have other ways of getting out (Leaps, slides and such).

So trust me, a button masher can't really do much of anything in this game.

Really though Alex is right, trying to compare these two games is silly. The kids can stick to brawl and the rest of us can stick to SF4. :P

Button-mashing gets you nowhere with real people, so it doesn't really matter.

SSBM had 40 yr olds playing it.

Btw does SF have 10 grand (+) tournaments like SSBM did, and does?

Still doesnt mean the game isnt button mashable.

Atleast in brawl there are more than 3 ways to stop a button masher

Now you are just trying to start up a flame-war. -.-

Look, stereotypes will bring you nowhere, I haven't even seen a -14 year old play Brawl. Ever. (I play mostly at parties, when I'm bored online, and at school/tournaments)

RNGs shouldn't come into play at all unless you are talking about tripping/items, but 99% of the games I and most players play leave items off.

Lets just leave the discussion out of here ok. You two can go back to 'spergin the brawl thread and leave this alone please. :) It's pretty pointless, I have no idea about brawl and you two have no idea about SF4.

I've played SF4 (last night actually) and you guys came and flammed at our thread first, just apologize on our thread.

Well being the best Brawler here I can honestly say that Brawl isn't close to a button mash game, although it may seem to (and actually may be) a kiddy one. I've never really got into SF so I can't say much about it... although I am pretty damn good at Tekken. :)

Edit: About Random Number Generators... I don't know exactly what that is, but if you're referring to random-ness, there aren't any really game changing at all.

Stop being such a little [kitty] about it. :) OH NO THEY MADE FUN OF THE GAME I PLAY.

This isn't a brawl vs Street Fighter thread. If you want to do that go make it. No need for any more crazy spergin here, I'd actually like to talk about SF4.

Yeah it was fun man. The Ultra into a special you did to kill me was [cabbage] though  .

But I tried to do a simple light punch but couldn't risk you getting up and handing me my rear end. =D

Especially since Akuma is easiest to Dizzy and lowest hp.

Haha, just had some kid rage at me for beating him with Akuma. He has a score (well had) of 1200 and I have 400. I guess he chose dan because he thought he could [bleep] around with me, but I beat him using kind of a turtle technique (spamming fireballs).

He sent me a voice message crying about the fact that I used Akuma and "spammed" my fireballs. All I sent back was " :) rage" and he then continued to send me another voice message raging about that. Funny.
