Serpent Eye
First off, you "technically" need 32 Farming to plant Ranaar, but you can plant them at level 29 if you use a Garden Pie (+3 boost to Farming level.) There are 5 total herb patches in the game - one in Ardougne, Catherby, Falador, Port Phasmatys, and Troll Stronghold (you must have completed the My Arm's Big Adventure quest to use the Stronghold herb patch.) Essentially, you need to figure out a "route" that you want to take when you do herb runs. For instance, my herb run looks like this: 1. Ectophial to Port Phasmatys 2. Camelot teleport and run to Catherby patch 3. Run to Ardougne patch 4. Explorer ring (3) to Falador patch When you are Farming herbs, it's highly suggested that you always treat your herb patches with Supercompost before planting, and that you always weild Magic secateurs when harvesting your herbs. (You must have completed the Fairy Tales: Part 1 quest to obtain the Magic secateurs.) Following your designated "route," visit each patch and plant an herb seed. They all take roughly 75 minutes to grow, so this leaves plenty of time to go work on a quest, train another skill, or work on combat. Once 75 minutes or so has passed, simply travel on your route again. When you harvest the herbs from one patch, immediately Supercompost the patch and plant another seed. Then travel on to the next patch in your route. This way, you always have an herb growing in all available patches. Personally, I plant Toadflax. The herb seeds are insanely cheap (max of 569gp per seed on G.E. right now) and the profit is very nice (roughly 2.3K per clean herb). While the profit for selling clean Ranarr is far greater (6.6k per herb) than Toadflax, the risk of having no profit is greater (each herb seed costs about 25k. Compared to the low cost of Toadflax seeds, I know I would rather have my Toadflax herbs die and lose little gold.) You get about 25 exp. per herb seed you plant, and anywhere from 12.5 exp (Guam) to 224.5 exp (Torstol) per individual herb you pick. You receive 30.5 exp. for every Ranarr you pick. Since the least amount of herbs you can harvest from one patch is 5, this means that you're guaranteed at least 152.5 exp. for each Ranarr plant, assuming your plant doesn't die. The profit lies in the fact that you can get about 11-15 herbs per patch on occassion - upwards of 500 exp. for a single plant. I suggest that you just experiment with different herbs, and see which works best for you. Also, experiment with your farming route, and see what's most convinient for you. As for how to get to your desired level of Farming, planting Trees is very good, albeit slow, exp. Until you get to level 15 and can start planting Oak trees, I suggest you just plant every and any flower and allotment seed you get your hands on. - - - I hope I haven't been too boring and wordy! Troacctid
There are 6 total herb patches in the game - one in Ardougne, Catherby, Falador, Harmony Island (must have started The Great Brain Robbery quest to access), Port Phasmatys, and Troll Stronghold (you must have completed the My Arm's Big Adventure quest to use the Stronghold herb patch.) The one on Harmony Island is not an herb patch. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP

transcript80
Since you are in it for the cash, also plant a marigold in the flower patch (4 of them as My Arm's patch has no flower). Seeds are dirt cheap, and grown marigold sell for 3k or so. I know, it has nothinf to do wth herb farming, but I though why not mention it? Other data was removed when acoount got hacked... Kietaro1
limpwurts are good as well as you plant the seed harvest 3 at a time and can sell 2 to make up the price of the seed, leaving a bonus of 1 limpwurt everytime. Not too shabby.

Not too shabby. If you want a bit more xp. But considering Marigold is worth 3k, and each Limp is not even worth 1k each, AND the seed cost consideration, Marigold is better, and you can buy a limp off the GE with the profit if you really want one. But, too many words on small profits... Templar GuardiansWhen are trying to lend something, the word to use is borrow. Not barrows, which is a mini-game. JoeDaStudd
Toadflax, marigolds, tomatoes and apple/orange trees are the best for low lvl farming cash. At your level do harralanders then toadflax, with marigolds and tomatoes (there mainly for the exp). Ubermager716
I would suggest planting toadflax and marigolds. I do a run every 75 mins, and the profit just rolls in. I start my run in Camelot and running to catherby, I then Ecto, then glory to draynor, then tele to ardougne. The run takes me maybe 5-10 mins. I know a lot of people showed other runs but personally you couldn't pay me to change. Dracomancer
Everyone's ignoring Vinesweeper... Normally, I do a herb run, but at the last patch, I play Vinesweeper until all my herbs are done. It's an extra 5k+ exp an hour, 10K+ if you're really good. You need to bring along some cash if you want it to go faster, though. Are you seriously spending an hour on something that could cost 15k and like 30 seconds (pineapple tree)? Or are the xp rates just off.
Dracomancer
I can't plant pineapple trees yet, can I? And I don't have any pineapple seeds anyway. Besides, I like Vinesweeper.
