Is there anything that can't kill you?-No supercannons!

Featured Replies

Nope, the resulting fall is what killed you.

Saying their brain, which released these chemicals killed you would be more accurate than saying a pleasant dream.

Of course, theres also the [cabbage] load of blood that will be there.

A pleasant dream cannot kill you.

Dreams have physical bases within the electrical complex of your brain, yes?

The sequential firing of these synapses and whatever chemicals are released to simulate some pleasant scene during sleep... cannot kill you.

I wonder if this has been said, and if I'm making myself a fool?

Hello Friend,

If you go in to a room where there is a person about to die with a big axe over their head and they are having a pleasant dream. And then just as brain fluids are released the axe chops their head off and you slip and fall on the brain juice you will die.

The cause of death there is the axe you freaking moron.

If something pierces your skull like that, and reaches your brain, you're dead.

If the axe kills someone else and you slip on their brain juice.

Then a pleasant dream would of killed someone.

Again, no.

It would be death by brain-juice slippage.

Also, you neglect the electrical component of a dream.

Remember, a party outside of a dream cannot experience the dream, and so cannot be killed by it.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

Thats like saying if you get shot its death of blood loss and the bullet had nothing to do with it.

You cant really use verbs thats like saying, breathing in one 100% clean air 71% nitrogen and 21% oxygen and other stuff, non moving, assuming everything is normal, wont kill you.

Are you saying 'brain-juice' is equal to a pleasant dream?

Really?

Are you serious?

EDIT: Quote wall terminated.

Brain juice is the only physical things we can get from dreams.

No. You cant reduce a dream to that.

Just like you can't say that the human body is a hunk of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, phosphorous, and whatever else there may be.

There are such things as emergent properties-- properties observed when small things are arranged in such a way that they are different from other things of similar composition but different arrangements.

Graphite and diamonds are both carbon structures. Are you telling me they can be regarded as 'the same'?

A dream, a pleasant one (not one that causes high stress levels or involuntary urination), is made up of a specific sequence of electrical signals and chemical releases.

You cannot say a dream is equal to the chemicals released, or the electrons used--

A dream is all of those things in a specific order and specific locations.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

I doubt the human bladder can contain enough urine to fill the space needed to drown someone in a box.

A giants' bladder perhaps?

A giant would need a bigger box. What I'm saying is, anything with humanoid proportions wont be able to piss enough to fill the box that is containing them. Their skin and clothing will also absorb some of the urine, requiring even more bladder action.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Thanks for the mental image flodder.

You are in a casing like a really really tight coffin. It only takes a little water to drown. You are wearing spandex.

In any case-- does the adjective 'pleasant' connote any chance of pissing your pants?

I suppose when you have one, if you're sleeping in your birthday suit, could get into your mouth and you could choke on, uhh, it.

If there is so little space between your body and the coffin, then the liquid wouldn't spread so much as... 'stay put'.

I'd like you to take a moment and visualize that.

Liquid. Stay put.

You'd die from blood overflow to the brain first.

And the liquid would likely pool at the back of your head.

Proton mass: 1.672^-27 kg

Anti-proton mass: 1.672^-27 kg

c: 3x10^8 m/s

E=mc^2

E=(1.672^-27 kg + 1.672^-27 kg)*(3x10^8 m/s)^2

E=3x10^-10 J

or

E= 3 tenths of a nanojoule

That's the maximum energy you're going to get from a single proton, and since an apple falling from a 1m high tree only releases 1joule (or ten billion times the energy of a proton's rest energy), I don't see how splitting a proton/anti-matter joining bologna could ever kill you. I don't know how to put this in simpler terms.

\' we are victorious, a single proton cannot be fatal

before someone says it could be annihalated in your brain, explain how were going to discretely hide the machinery to split it in your brain.

Orthodoxy is unconciousness

the only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.

Well, I guess I can't argue with that.

A short-spear in zero gravity.

No assitence from anything, its just you and the spear.

Killing yourself with it doesn't count.

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

Why no assistance from anything? I can think of 200 things that can kill you if we start to make rules.

Because usually I expect a single object to kill without assitance.

With assitance, anything is possible.
