January 25, 200917 yr It's a phase. The "kill all news threads" phase is rapidly coming on, and soon to follow is the "nothing but incredibly valuable and intelligent scientific and philosophical discussion" phase. Except it's more like the "nothing but incredibly pointless and selfless ego stroking of pseudo-scientific and pseudo-philosophical discussion" as nobody is actually giving their own opinions but simply quoting their favorite "hero" in the matter. There's very little independent thought, it's simply a link dump of footnotes. People will be begging to for lighthearted discussion in six months. All this has happened before and it shall all happen again. How do we reach these kids? Yeah, these news threads are crap and crap throughout. Like I've said, it would be alright if the threadstarter actually puts his own input and steers the discussion. Instead, you see a link, a copy of the article, and a line begging people to "discuss" the article. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
January 25, 200917 yr Make an offtopic subforum called "NEWS! FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE TOO BORING TO DISCUSS OTHER THINGS! NOW WITH 40% MORE CAPS!" Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)
January 25, 200917 yr I thought the off-topic board was also swarmed with useless non-news related topics like this one. So much for something worth discussing. actually this thread functions as a satiris statement against the mass of news threads weve been receiving, thread maker was brilliant in choosing this method of complaining. Except he's not the first to do it. That fact pretty much speaks for itself. [citation needed] sorry, had to be done Steam | PM me for BBM PIN Nine naked men is a technological achievement. January 25, 200917 yr Or maybe ignore the news articles. Period. Probably the easiest solution ever. We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012
January 25, 200917 yr Or maybe ignore the news articles. Period. Probably the easiest solution ever. Ok I can easily find 9-10 of your posts saying "ignore the news articles" or something like that. You got your point across some people just choose not to accept that point. If no one ranted about news articles then there would be plenty more. Stop spamming with "Ignore the news articles" Pureprayer, you're awesome.
January 25, 200917 yr This is a very ignorant topic imo. People like knowing about current events. It's part of human nature, though the topics author doesn't seem to accept that. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
January 25, 200917 yr Hmm... if you don't like the excess of new articles, why don't you create new threads which have topics you enjoy discussing? I like when new threads are created, you would like bumping the news topics off the first page, and the people who make the news threads can still do it. We all win.
January 25, 200917 yr The people complaining about the number of news articles are annoying me more than the articles themselves -.- If you don't want to read it, DON'T CLICK IT

I like when new threads are created, you would like bumping the news topics off the first page, and the people who make the news threads can still do it. We all win. Exactly. In the past there was this trend, that most of OT's threads were boring and crap. People complained. In the end, what was said was Zierro's message. If you don't like the current threads, make new ones or live with it. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
