A too strange coincidence...

This whole story began in the old cruel RSC times...

At some day November 2004 my old account (see RSN2) was banned (now it's a Legacy Punishment, let's just leave it at that). Since the last chance appeal was denied in mid 2007 I had little no hope that it will ever be unbanned again. Anyway, I had a new account that was quite advanced back then (see RSN), so, knowing that my old account didn't had much wealth on it and that it gets more and more outdated, I didn't care much. Now since the Account Review thread was opened I decided to post it for a review. It took them full 5 business days to do the investigation, and the request was denied with a note that the decision is now final.

Well, I agree with that and I have though something along the lines: how good to know that most RSOF users do not get unbanned just because a lot of some time passed. But the problem isn't here.

So today, a nice saturday, I went to train agility at Ape Atoll. I needed to finish off the energy pots in my inv before trying to complete RFD (Karamel part and further) again, which naturally I accomplished. Before buying a black mask and going to do my dagannoth task, I've decided to fletch some of my MtK maple logs while doing homework/browsing various sites at the computer. Well, everything went OK, I had a maze which I completed at 69%: got 22 mith ores and 79 coal along with over 1.3K feathers (not a very good reward). Several hundred maple logs after, I got the drill demon random, which I completed, got 500 coins...

After several minutes bam: I get disconnected. "BLEEP wireless internet connection" - I think. I try to login, but it all of a sudden tells me my account is disabled... Examining the message inbox (message about status change came like 12 minutes later) told me I am in the green zone and that I was 10 day banned (no evidence) for breaking rule 7, THE SAME RULE my older account was permabanned without any warning that november. Sure, I may have not followed the chat, but I wasn't damn AFK, because at least once/min I looked at the screen to deposit unstrung bows, withdraw logs and set to fletch 27 of them....... Haven't failed (or logged out at) a single random!

Too bad this looks like a very lame attempt to accidentally ban a maybe-using-3rdPS-because-his-old-acc-is-banned-for-it. I guess that's why I'm still in the green zone. But still, the kickban shocked me: how could this happen??!

Odd. Never heard of anyone being banned without cause for macroing. If you really weren't, that sucks.

For rule 7 there is almost always no evidence because they have none that they put except "We think you were autoing"

Yes, I have thought that they might just not show any evidence for this special rule, they have noted why. But still, I last used mousekeys ages ago. Can you kickban someone just because he has public chat on but doesn't respond?

I don't think so.

That leaves us at Denial of account review + a kickban for 10 days at the same day.

Man, I just got banned for 10 days under rule 7 as well... (It just got lifted 2 days ago)

I too, have never used any software to macro, but I did use mousekeys like a week before. Something is going wrong their end... Because this unfair banning is kind of a pain...

If its mousekeys, maybe you're moving your mouse a bit too linearly? That would be an indication of a macro, something that hits its target dead on, every single time, instead of overshooting, or going at a perfect horizontal, and then down a perfect vertical. I know I can't do that with a mouse.

Or it could also be how mousekeys would take triggers away from their JVM, and they would detect that...

Strange though, I hope Jagex gets it together.

Well I placed my pointer over the spell I wanted, then while holding down the CTRL key I could press 4,4,5,6,6,5 repeatedly on the NumPad to cast Crumble Undead spell on the zombies.

I could see why this come up as a "macro" because I could keep a rhythm going with those keys (I basically got 3 magic levels from that method)

If that is indeed what they are picking up, then Jagex has to either say no to people using MouseKeys (Which at the moment has been said to be legit) - Or they have to work on their detection systems.

They clearly can't have both as it is causing problems.

It's unlikely to be mouse keys. A J-Mod recently specified they are allowed. However, I have heard of problems their end, regarding so called "auto detectors" which follow mouse movements, and patterns. It's a pain that in the green zone, you cannot appeal bans. :|

Actually more and more people are getting banned with no evidence, and not just for rule 7. I was muted for breaking rule #1 but appealed it successfully because they had no evidence. I even got a 5 days of membership, which honestly surprised me.

What would you have them do? I don't think the system can distinguish extremely focused trainers between AFK'ers. Best thing you could've done was chatted a bit.

Honestly though, what you were doing sounds exactly what I do all the time. Maybe Jagex has something against you? Idk, but that really sucks man. At least it's only 10 days.
