Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key
Apv301 replied to n_odie's topic in General Discussion
"The Secruity Key can be of some use, B U T with the extra bank space i vote no for it. :shame: If it was available to A L L players p2p and f2p bank space would be  It's all a matter of opinions too." It is available to everyone. Extra bankspace is a wonderful addition, even though I voted nay too it. I thought $20 without bank space was enough for me, obviously many disagreed. However lets look at the future, after say, you got the device. Your playing the game and noticed "Hey I only have 3 day's of membership left and I can't afford to get another moth yet" with the added bankspace you wouldn't have to drop as much item's as your normally would have to continue using the bank. Personally I think that the bank space increase would bump f2p banks to the size of members, and members up even higher. Right now this seems too much, but my bank is slowly filling, it's about 279 right now, about 100 higher then 5 months ago. The reason? Quest's, new items, you name it! YOu must remember we have a new skill coming up (crosses fingers and hopes for sailing and not enchanting) which would add so many more items to many already bulging banks. ---------------------------------------------------- On the skill note I have a bit of info: It's SUPPOSED to be f2p as well as members, so as much as it pains me, sailing may very well be out. The new skill is SUPPOSED to be combat related, I'm excited about that *rolls eyes* ------------------------------------------------------ Skill Rumors Sailing is the longest, oldest, and ONLY popular skill you see in forums. No others have lasted as long with support. Enchanting is a recent idea, that I hate, but seem's disgustingly possible. I believe if enchanting would happen, it would defeat the purpose of specials, which would ultimately allow JaGeX to 'change' D-Claws without as much attention. (Just a theory if it would happen, don't go selling D-Claws over a little theory people =\ ) Dragon Riding, a new skill idea that got support uber fast, will NEVER happen. JaGeX stated there would never be horses, dragons would be even harder to work with. Elemental Crafting, an older idea that remerges occasionally under different names. Basically summoning lightning, ice, you name it, to help in combat. Personally I believe this would be better recommended as a new spell book, not a skill. -
Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key

Well this is the last I'm reading the tipit times, JaGeX hasn't lost its touch, or lost it's ability to connect with the players. People that post such erroneous claims as this article have lost touch with JaGeX. Before you go and slam everything JaGeX does before it's even done, do a bit of research. You claim you won't be able to play at work because it's a USB device, your gravely mistaken. http://forum.[Please Use QuickFind Code].ws?15,16,824,59150300,goto,2 Mod Andrew stated it's not USB. Funny I thought people from IT knew what a USB device was, guess I'm wrong. Also weren't you taught to verify your information? When I was taught how to facet my teacher taught me something very important 'Verify, Verify, Verify' it's simple and it applies to everything. You also state that bullies can steal your key and then your password. If you believe this would really happen, DON"T BRING YOUR KEY TO SCHOOL, or don't buy they key! Bullies aren't going to kick the door down in your house, mug you, then run off with your key. JaGeX offering extra bank space shouldn't be frowned at either, it's essentially a one time pay membership benefit. Where as a godsword from the JaGeX shop, if lost, was just that. You don't think JaGeX has a plan for a lost key? They would have too, and I have complete faith in them that they do. They said they were in it for the long run, a member who lost a key obviously would stop playing, and the key's cost JaGeX money, so I'm sure they will have a way to recover. You say how Blizzard can restore lost money, can a Java based game do this without a complete reset? I don't know, but if they started to do so, it would not be fair to those that lost items or money in the past. If Blizzard is such a great game creator why do you play Runescape? Pessimism is the plaque of runescape, and personally I wouldn't miss you in the least. Instead of looking at the past, why not the future? JaGeX does not want to ruin it's game, it is there lifeline, any update they make has long term goals, that WE, not JaGeX, are often blind or ignorant too. Mobilizing Armies is a boring minigame to me, but the fact you HAVE to pay with items that never sell in the ge, helps stabilize the gaming economy. People cry with every change to PVP "OMG JaGeX killed the economy!!" Are you forgetting the year we didn't have PVP at all? The game didn't die then. PVP tricker's have no right to complain about merchers I should add. You are gaining money in just as easy of a fashion as a mercher. Except you risk far less then a mercher. If anything a tricker is worse then a mercher. That being said I admit that I have tricked before, I'm too lazy to do it however, so I only made about 400k. So I'm not preaching about something I've never done. You claim that this violates what JaGeX Promises, did you read the terms of service when you made your account? This is THEIR GAME! They hold the right to your account no matter what you do, buy, say, donate, whatever. Constructive criticism is fine and dandy, but we have just become a group of complainers. I admit I've complained as well, the new icons, hp bar, the new font. I'm glad they changed the font, but after a week of the new Icons, I no longer mind them, I no longer mind the hp bar either. The note's I never use, but I can see how they are handy. The truth is JaGeX has lost it's support, not it's spirit. When millions of players take more time destroying what they built, instead of trying to adapt, who is really to blame? -
Bank them man, only people I see drop logs are Teak power lvlers.

It took me a few weeks to get it all, I had all but the top. Which I got 2 hours before my friends 99 wc party
-
Zanik's C'bow fails... utterly. I bought like 20 diamond bolts (e), which it's supposed to be able to you, to put a smart mouthed ancienter in his place. However they wouldn't fire and I ended up nearly dieing.

I always chop dense =/, Broodoo are fairly easy to deal with. Except the yellow one, as balm is hard to get.

True, but blue to green and vice versa do not damage you. -
Missing my Mummy Tips and Help (not a full guide)
Apv301 replied to Apv301's topic in Help and Advice
The Statues: Repairing these should be the first thing you do, they make the Shadow fights easier for lower leveled players, as they recharge prayer. WARNING: The North West statue damages you if you use it. -------------- Sq'irt Juice: Ali Morrisan wants a glass of Sq'irt juice so he can persuade Osman to help him out, getting them is really a pain in the rear, the Winter garden is the easiest. You'll need 5 Sq'irts, energy pots may help. -------------------------- Shortcut: Near Urn 4 there is a hole in the wall, if you enter you find yourself in a room filled with scarabs, nothing of noting is in this room. Near the hole you entered you will see another hole, entering it will bring you into a tunnel behind the Stone Dias. This isn't very useful on the quest, but the scarabs do offer a lower level slayer monster. ------------- Obtaining the Original 'Name' scroll: To get the second 'name' scroll your gonna need to talk to Ali Morrisan again, but this time make sure your wearing a 'Ring of Charos (a)' he will willingly hand over the scroll for, sit down folks, Free!! -------------- Closing: Hopefully this information is of use to somebody, you may want to speak to the man in Nardah if you beat Tales of Muspah, as during this quest you learn a few interesting facts. -
Hello everyone, seeing as MMM doesn't have a guide yet, I'll post a few helpful things such as... Items Needed (For 100% Mummy): 20 Fire Runes, Grain, Pot, Jug of Wine, Regular Spice, 1 Willow Log, Knife, Saw, Hammer, Beer Glass, Pestle and Mortar, Ring of Charos (a),5 of any Sq'irt , Al Kharid Flyer, money for carpets. ----------------- Recommended Items: Prayer Pot, Broomstick or Glory, Teleport runes to Lumbridge , Blunt Weapon (Like a Gadderhammer or A Mace), Food and Armour, Waterskin, and Energy pots. --------------- Highest Level Monster: Lvl 72 Shadow Attack Method: Melee -------------- Clue Scroll Dropper: The Low level Scarabs found around the pyramid do drop clue scroll, I have not completed it to know what level they are though. My guess is level 1. ----------------- Lighting the sconce's: After defeating the first shadow you will need to light each Sconce to spawn another Shadow. The sconces are found in individual niches to the East of the Sarcophagus. Each takes 5 fire runes to light and spawns a stronger shadow each time. The order may be random for lighting order, I lit in the following order. South, North, West, East. ----------------------- Spiced Wine and a Pot of grain: These two seem to be a major stumbling block for some people, so here is how to get each. Spiced Wine: To make this item you simply need to use a spice can on a jug of wine, gnome spice DOES NOT work. The spice can be bought in Ardougne market place or in the RFD Chest. Pot of Grain: Simpler then you'd think, just use grain on the pot. No grinding is required. ------------------------- The Tiles: The tiles to the north of the sarcophagus can be very dangerous, as stepping from one color to another may trigger a trap. Try to go only on green and blue tiles, they do no harm. ----------------------- The 'Urns': While I don't remember the correct name for them, here are the locations for all five 'urns'. Urn 1: To the immediate east of the entrance, near the Stone Dias. Urn 2: In a small area with 2 scarabs west of the stairs on level B1F of the Pyramid. Urn 3: In the North East section of the Scarab Tunnels. Urn 4: In the Scarab tunnels, at the southern end. Urn 5: -????- I have forgotten where it is, it may be in the room with the stone boat. -------------------- Mummy Body: Near Urn 4

Yeah it would be cool. Did you beat While Guthix Sleeps? I mean you said "Duradel can give you them as an assignment" I can pretty much promise you he won't. Anyway it would be cool to see them, but what next? Rune dragons? I would like a Bone Dragon myself.
-
I only see att str pures using them, go to pvp once, its obvious you haven't. Dds, Godswords, D claws, ancients, and D bows, and crystal bows are what you see. I don't remember seeing too many whips. Besides the Barrelchest anchor overpowers the whip by far, if it was faster it would be very deadly. I mean come on its a Dh axe at a lower lvl. And actually a special does make the weapon, thats why I could easily open an arguement here about which godsword is the best. The D claw special is what sells them, you survive the d claw Quad slash, and the user is cat food. You claim a special doesn't make a weapon, but your weapons specials are just ludicrous. Why do you think the Zammy staff is unpopular? The Rune Claws, the d2h, the d long, the d mace, Silverlight, Excalibur, Magic Compound bow, Guthans everthing, Because the special stinks! People buy power and power has a special.
-
Most of these spells are copied from Item specials. There are very few I actually like. I hate edgeville teleport, Ancients, Glory, Fairy Rings. There is plenty of ways to get there. Why not have it to barbarian Village instead? Its F2p and close to edgeville, but would be useful to members as well. I like that one that teleports you up to 20 squares away, but it wouldn't be a good idea. Imagine a guy with a D bow, he fires of the specials fast and teleports away, then switches to mage and hits you hard as you rush towards him and warps away. Then he equips a dds P++ and finishes you off. It would help fight against player jacking though.

I'm just posting this for a better look, and the alarm when you get to low health. If over 2000 games use it, no one will complain about it. Oh god..NO NO NO... You remember getting low health with the volume on in Pokemon? You got to listen to 30 minutes of BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG BING BONG Untill you turned the volume off or your head exploded. This game used to be my favorite too, but it's pathetic now. It's supposed to be skill/combat but within 5 minutes its combat. I build lvl 4 barriers, I am a huge target. I don't think i am, I know it. Nothing puts a grin on my face faster then hearing "Pile the 91!! He's making lvl 4 barriers!" I get owned fast, buts its still cool to see.

My issue with it is how unorganized it is. If the game maybe had different ranks for people in each team. Gatherers: Players with 30+ Slayer can be put on the Gatherer team. There task is to obtain soul fragments. Benefits: Cannot be attacked by Offense Pros: Must use runners to move materials. Offense: Players with Str, mage, or range higher then there Def are placed here. There Job is to assault enemy occupied zones. Benefits: Captures bases quicker then any unit Con: Spawns in 20 sec. Defense: Players with Def higher then there main Combat stat, are placed here. There job is too defend occupied zones. Benefits: No delay in spawning Con: Cannot Capture bases Runners: Players who are below above skills become runners, there job is to run soul fragments to the obelisk. Benefits: They are given infinite run, and a 15% def increase Cons: They cannot ingage in combat. Medic: Players with 30+ Herblore, or 80+ magic with lunar are made medics, they supply players with potions and healing. Benefits: Free runes, and herbs Cons: 1/2 exp Repair: Players with 40+ Construction are placed on the Repair team. They are allowed to build barricades, and use lumber to make ranger/mage towers and traps. Benefits: Can build faster then any unit. Cons: Run is drained. Lumberjacks: Players with 30+ Woodcutting are placed in this job. They must cut logs for use in herb beds, and construction items. Benefits: Str enhanced 200% with an axe equiped Con: Cannot attack, can only retaliate. Farmer: Players with 10+ Farming can grow herbs and food for use of the Medics. Benefits: Escape Pollen, dropping a bag full stuns everyone is a 5x5 grid. Allowing an escape. Pros: Poison hits 2x as hard. I got carried away =/ this is an entirely new game haha.

Yeah, that and proving you really have the level you say you do. Best way to shut up a liar is to tell them to say there level through quickchat. I met a guy with 99 Fishing, 70 str (I think it was str) and 10 hp. All from barbarian fishing
-
Quest Cape, Herblore, Construction, Firemaking, and Hunter. Those are the capes I'm after, and so far none of them are afk. Construction is so much clicking and waiting on the Butler. Herblore is click, bank click, bank etc. Firemaking is about the same as herblore, hunter is click click click click, and Quest Cape owns, enough said? Two of the things that have drove me insane in Runescape. 12 combined hours and 1200 Cockatrices for my Cockatrice head in my House. 6 Combined Hours and 523 Cockatrices for my Second cockatrice head for my minitrice. Two things im most proud of in rs. My Cockatrice head in my house, and my minitrice.

I have seen that, and depending on how there doing it I respond in different ways. If there just mentioning a stat level, I do the customary, polite "Nice" most people do, it's an unspoken courtesy. But if they are as you said, "Nerd, I got 65 Agility" I usually respond with a quick chat "My construction level is 70." or "I have 260 quest points." That generally shuts them up

Actually more and more people are getting banned with no evidence, and not just for rule 7. I was muted for breaking rule #1 but appealed it successfully because they had no evidence. I even got a 5 days of membership, which honestly surprised me.
-
Thank you thank you thank you! I searched every guide on here for that.

Alright, I have a two simple questions for the experts here. What on earth do Minitrices and Crawling Hands eat? I tried feeding a noob to the Minitrice but he fought to much. But seriously, what do I feed them?
