What is some of the best armour and weapons avalible for melee in total for around 6 mill? and also what is the best weapon to train strength with this?

Torag plate

Verac skirt

Whip

Fury

Berserker/neitznot

Drag boots

RFD gloves

Should have enough money left for a berserker ring or nearly enough for full guthans.

That's about as efficient as it gets, high priced weapons and armour = 100% overated.

old reliable rune plate and rune legs would work with best rfd gloves u can use. and zerker ring or ring of wealth. d scim worked fine for me =]

No reason to use rune legs; dragon plateskirt is ridiculously cheap now. Whip>D scimmy; if you're training strength SS>D scimmy.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

i dont dont think rune legs r so bad...and ss ftl..the only use i can find it for is waterfiends =/ and if u do slayer a lot to train ur cb stats just go with d scim cheaper and i usually get tasks were i have to use a shield(dragons basilisks etc...) so use that extra millions on some skills  that u would save

Pretty much ideal.

I wouldn't bother with Torag plate or Verac skirt if you are on a budget and just get Guthan's parts instead. Difference is slight and at least then you have 2 of the 4 parts for the set effect.

For the helm I would use black mask/slayer helm if you are on task. Bit more expensive but worth every gp.

Also for shield go get a free rune defender. If you need defense (I doubt you will) then obby shield.

It has been proved that a D scim + Rune Def can be better that a SS in some sitsuations.

The strength bonus makes the obsidian shield far superior for melee.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

My setup(*note* a high def outfit)

Helm Neitznot

Dharok's plate(only like 220k)<--

Guthan's Chain skirt(Only 200k)<--

Fury

Whip

Dragon boots

Dragon gauntlets charged(best def gloves in the game, also I don't have stats for rfd...)

Obsidian Shield

<-- bought these two to save money, as they give same bonus as torags, or near same

0neJudgement.png

Goals:

94 magic

94 ranged

55 slayer

Addy gloves-done

My setup differs a bit from task to task but anyways:

neitiznot (or slayer helm) - 50K

fury - 2.7M

qp cape - 100k

whip - 1.5M

runedefender (obby shield if you want to buy it, runedefender is clearly superior though) - 300k

guthans body (sometimes also fighter torso in easy tasks) - 300k

guthans legs - 200k

barrow gloves - 100k

dragon boots - 300k

ring of wealth - 50k

total:

5.60M! (maybe even less if you use a rune defender)

I use guthans instead of dharocks/torags since the defense difference between guthans/torags is neglible.

Especially when your next aim should be full guthans or (if you have 68+ summoning) a verac skirt (though that's a so-called "specialist piece": only buy that once you have enough money so you don't see 600K as a lot of money).

some supstitutes worth considering (in order from a good subsitute to "this should be only a last resort").

-first of all: glory instead of fury (glory has some nice teleport function, and is a lot cheaper).

-rune kite shield instead of obby (though shouldn't be done if you plan to use rune defender anyways)

-d plate skirt instead of guthans skirt.

-rune boots instead of dragon boots..

-if that's not enough: klank/cooking/rune gloves instead of barrows.

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Rune Defender is for lower-level monsters. Use obby shield for higher ones.

Actually no: even graardor I fight with a defender over the shield! - At high level accuracy becomes more and more a problem, and then the attack bonusses from the defender become really noticable!

Actually,I wasn't talking about boss monsters, although I did use a broad generalization. (sorry)

For higher level slayer tasks and such, obsidian shield is better than rune defender

i use some cheap stuff, i usually go neit helm, rune pl8, ammy of glory, d scimmy/whip (depends if u are training str or att/def), defender/rune kite, d skirt, d boots, barrow gloves, ring of wealth, it's generally inexpensive only coming out 2 about, 2.5m and it gives generally good stats
