February 25, 200917 yr Hugh Jackman's performances were cringe-worthy. Only thing I thought was cringe-worthy was everyone pretending to tear up when Heath Ledger won his award. You just knew a lot of them did. The guy who won the Oscar for best animated short, however... best Oscar speech ever. I think Jackman did a great job though. He was adorable.
February 25, 200917 yr Ben Stiller was funny. I really hated when Anthony Hopkins acted all fidgity on stage though (he's one of my favorite actors :( ). Very dull overall though...as usual... YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!

February 26, 200917 yr Is it just me or was Slumdog Millionaire a strange movie for winning best picture? Sure it was a good movie, but not best picture good.
February 26, 200917 yr Is it just me or was Slumdog Millionaire a strange movie for winning best picture? Sure it was a good movie, but not best picture good. It depends on what your criteria for "best picture good" is. It is strange for an unashamedly feel-good film to win (alright it's not a completely feel-good film, it has its sadder and more intense moments but overall it is quite upbeat). If you look at best picture winners over the last 10 years they tend to be a bit downbeat and kind of revelling in tragedy, which I don't mind at all but it is nice to have a change. I'm not sure if that is what you were getting at or whether you just meant that you didn't like the film (or though others were more worthy). He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
