Wow, okay, not a when should i get teh memrborz post.

I've had a member's account before (don't believe me, look at my second account's high scores, 84 Hunter.)

I've created a F2P account, and I'm mining away, I'm at 56 mining at the moment.

And I got to thinking, training on F2P isn't really that bad, but I don't want to pull out too far ahead in my skills, i.e. getting like 70 in all combat stats, going P2P and having 1 slayer...

I'm obviously going to finish all the quests, and get my non-combat skills to 60.

But when would the ideal time for me to upgrade my account?

High combat is nice to have before going p2p for things like GWD, barrows and other monster hunting.

But it really depends on what skills you enjoy doing.

I'd say 60 for combat and 50+ for non combat skills would be pretty good. Then after going P2P you could train combat through slayer or skill for money.

LOL. This could take a while.

The best time to upgrade your free account is when you feel like you're done with the free game, and you've experienced enough of it that you're ready to move on to the members' version.

There's no need to worry about achieving some minimum skill levels beforehand, because just about every skill can be trained faster in p2p at every level. Even the ones that show little improvement, like firemaking, will benefit from increased moneymaking abilities, smaller crowds, and so on.

Totally agree with above post. Best time to get members is:-

(a) When you can afford it and

(B) When you can dedicate some time to get maximum benefit from it

Best of luck when you join. :-)

(a) When you can afford it and

If money is not an issue, then get membership immediately.

You get significant benefit immediately from greater xp gains and less crowded training spots.

Also, some member skills are useful at low levels, such as Summoning (got my Mage skill from 1 to 38 using combat summons while training Attack at Varrock Sewers (and I'm leveling Range the same way). And I couldn't imagine mining coal pre-60 without the coal carts west of Seer's Village. Nor could I imagine getting to level 60 WC without Maples.

If you insist on grinding at reduced speed and xp rates in F2P, knock yourself out. But if the $6 is not really an issue, I really don't see why you would limit yourself.

Well i got my first membership when i was a level 111 player with 99cooking. I have never been P2P before that so i knew nothing about being a member. Alot of things were new to me, most of them infact. I say wait as long as you can before you get membership. Wait till being F2P gets so boring you cant even be bothered to lay RS. Membership will change it all and keep you interrested.

This is something I believe only you can decide. When you feel that F2P has nothing more fun to offer you and you have cmpleted all free quests and diaries, and got high levels in most F2P skills, then it's time to go P2P.

Nor could I imagine getting to level 60 WC without Maples.

I would point out here that maples are actually not a good tree to cut at all, at any level.

There are better options, such as teaks, available to members. I didn't know that at the time. However, I'm glad I had Maples available so that I wasn't stuck with thousands of near-worthless willows that would take forever to sell. -.-

Anyway, I completely disagree with the general consensus that you must exhaust F2P before moving on to P2P. I can see where it is coming from, since many players are younger and have little money, so they don't want to 'waste' any of it. Sadly, I'm not so young anymore, and put a much higher premium on my leaisure time than I do on a mere $6 a month. 8-)

Do it NOW. I played F2P for about 5 years not being able to access members due to not having good methods of payment. My skills were mediocre at best (58 pray pure F2P \' ) and as soon as I turned member it was a huge difference. It was SO awesome. Wait...it STILL IS.

You've got some decent skills. I agree with some others in that you should train up some of your lower skills to a usable level (30 I'd personally say) in F2P, but once you do, jump the boat and make this second account a member already!

Btw Intermagma, that burn in your sig just made my day. I loled for a good solid minute.

i got all combats level 40, then went members

but earlier the better, easier training spots in member servers
