Im so confused.

Master Chief stops the other Halo's from firing, then shoots one?

And then he gets awat safely on a ship with the Arbiter, then the game later implys he died?

Someone please clear this up for me, I have some kind of game-understanding disorder.

He's not dead, he's in chryo sleep. In the Legendary (full) ending, his half of the frigate is seen floating towards a planet, speculated to be Harvest.

And use this thread: viewtopic.php?f=151&t=702590 ;)

Basically, the ark, where most of the game takes place, is outside of the galaxy (if I remember right) and thus outside the range of all the rings. He fires a tactical pulse from the half-built halo, which destroys the ark and all the flood on it, which I think was pretty much all the flood, since the gravemind and such were there. He and the arbiter fly off through the portal, but the portal collapses as hes going through. Then, if you watch till the end of the credits, you see him in the half of the ship floating in space, and he goes into chyrogenic sleep. Then the camera zooms out and shows the ship floating towards a planet with citys and such on it.

MC fires a tactical pulse from the newly constructed Installation 04 before it is ready, and so it begins to collapse even as it initializes firing sequences.

He drives away while the Halo collapses beneath his speeding Warthog, and he eventually makes a jump into the Forward Unto Dawn.

The Arbiter runs up into the pilot's seat while the MC hangs back, staring at Cortana.

The Portal back to Earth closes as the Forward Unto Dawn makes it halfway through, leaving the MC stuck in extra-galactic space.

He enters cryo-sleep, giving his final one-liner to Cortana: "Wake me when you need me."

The FUD then floats to what looks like Forerunner Shield Installation.

And we don't know what happens from there. Cortana has a period of a couple years before she goes insane and finally dies (she will begin thinking so much she will forget to carry on vital sub-routines, essentially going into such a high plane of thought that she forgets to 'breathe'), so it's unlikely that the MC will wake up.

And if he does, it will be to the ramblings of a rampant Cortana or an entirely different form of intelligence.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

I was disappointed with Halo 3. There was so much hype about the game, I bought it a few days after release. I completed the game in 2 days, then did legendary in a further 4 days. Meh, I guess the multi-player can make up for it sometimes, when XBL isn't full of pre-pubic Americans. :|

Harvest? What? Harvest fell, dude. Glassed. Uninhabitable. How could that be Harvest? Where did this idea come from?

It was speculated on a Halo forum.

And just because there can't be enemies on Harvest doesn't mean it's not Harvest. There is no Halo 4 guys.

I didn't say that there just couldn't be enemies on harvest. I meant that there can't be life on Harvest. It's a big ball of glass now, like Reach. There was clearly some civilization on that planet/planetoid.

So who else thinks that the next installment in the Halo universe will be the rescue of the Chief?

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Is a new chapter in the story even coming? I thought they were done.

My friend actually thought that the reflected light at the end of the credits was the ship getting destroyed. For a while, he thought that Master Chief died at the end. Hah. There was some pretty creepy music at the end of that little cutscene.

Anyone looking forward to Recon?

I'm pretty sure the "new chapter" was Marathon. You know, way back when. That hasn't been confirmed, though.

They confirmed distinction in the two universes. Marathon is in it's own world.

I'm pretty sure that world the MC floats towards is another one of those sentinel-infested spheres. The Shield worlds where all the S3's, S2's, and Halsey are trapped.

It looked... alive.

I bought Ghosts of Onyx in November, right before Thanksgiving. I still haven't finished  Apathy, really. It's sitting in my car on the floor. I'm at the part where they blew up that big pyramid of yellow spheres.

This was the version I heard.

I really have to finish that Halo book I had :wall: ...

I liked the ending. Went full circle, that's always cool :D .
