At the moment im killing fire giants. I am 83 range about to be 84. i was just wondering if anyone knew a good monster to kill for good exp and to make a little money while doin it.

blue drags at ogre enclave. so many safe spots, and at ur lvl its easy to double dip (kill one, run to another one and safespot kill that, then run back to the other one)

is that the one in talvery?

taverly is always packed. thats a no-no. ogre enclave is win. only non questing noobs use taverly :D

do you know how much exp per hour? and which quest is it?

Aviansies, dragons, that pretty much covers the bulk of what you're looking for. It's hard to say anything else, but at higher levels you may consider cannoning Ice Trolls or Fire Giants and see how that works out. 100% sure it's faster xp, but not so sure about the cost. I remember the Ice Trolls used to pay for all my costs, and Fire Giants require you get lucky.

Blue dragons in general can be sorta out of the way and far from a bank (Is the enclave further or closer than Taverly?) Bank runs will be pretty frequent if you want to bank your hides and bones.

 

 

 

Fire giants are still a good choice imo. Decent alchable drops (Yay r scimmy :thumbsup: ), lots of safespots, close to Barbarian outpost (Waterfall dungeon at least), and they've got super low defence.

Kill aviansies and use the money to buy chins. I believe it's the fastest non-loss range xp in the game.

go to aviansies and make 40mil while you do it.

Well in a thread i posted a few days ago i asked about using a Cannon for ranged. I got the answer that using a connon on Ice Trolls can get upto 45k Exp an hour and 300k Cash an hour. Now as we know most of those figures are always a bit off mark so im guessing you could easily get 30k - 35k exp and 200k - 250k money an hour. Thats off the Cannon alone. If you can find a safespot and range them with a Xbow aswell you could easily push the exp rate upto 50k or 60k exp an hour along with 300k money.

Well I was the one who posted the guide link and recommended it so I thought I would test it out to see for myself (saves me looking like a fool later).

 

I was impressed with the speed of the exp and the some of the drops. But the cash per hour is based on rarer drops which means you can get either tons or very little.

 

 

 

I did 2 quick runs (totaled at about 40 to 50 minutes at the most). With the first run I used 500 cannonballs, 2 prayer potions and about 5k in food, but netted about 300k (profit was about 150k after re-buying supplies). The second trip was rubbish in comparison (drop wise, exp wise it was far better since I stayed there longer), I barely broke even. As I used all 3 prayer potions, all my food and all 1000 cannon balls (ok there was 1 left).

 

So I got a profit of around 200k in 40 to 50 minutes with over 30k range exp (I only noticed it was 30k+ since I leveled up after the first trip). I'll give it another go tonight and note the exp per hour

 

 

 

As long as you kill the female trolls quickly you take very little damage, but you should definitely take a terrorbird (or bullant) as you run alot and there's lots of herb and rune drops.

 

 

 

I can't see no reason why you couldn't range them (use melee prayer and take the fremmy shield for gods sake) since your cannon does most of the work and your just cleaning up the females and low hp'ers.

 

 

 

My conclusion, not as realiable as Avainsies or Blue Dragons, but fast exp with the chance of a large/chunky profit.

Money at ice trolls is about 200k per hour but the range xp is at least 45k xp. Very good. I would at least try that.

The range xp is around 60-65k if you range them using broad bolts in conjuction with the cannon; however the profit rate is significantly lower than 200k.
