We haven't had a DD yet (well, no DD since they quit BTS), so a bit early to judge. I never really liked the BTS though. I'd rather have massive updates come out of nowhere instead of Jagex hyping them up and then they turn out to be not as good as expected.

But the BTS did sometimes give massive updates without us knowing. Remember Construction? That BTS told us of a new update that would let us sit on chairs! It was vague, funny, and clever. And DDs can be used to overhype something FAR more than the BTS. Look at all the Summoning stuff for proof.

 

 

 

When that BTS came out I was like "woot I can sit all day in Karamja bar now" lol. Good memories...

One BTS I can remember was the one about MEP2 :lol:

 

It was the first quest relased when i started playing I think :lol: Or the main one i remember :shock: I remember lookin at the levels needed and was like OMFG [cabbage] :

BTS was good, it let me kinda keep track of what was happening when I wasn't playing

I just like them better to be honest even thought the DD's are a good read, I would prefer the bts.

well tbh id want both like they had before, id also like the "state of play" back, if you dont know them, forgot about them or like to read them again click here and here

 

 

 

especially the state of play was a really good initiative, albeit a bit misleading on the releasedate part (click the second link to see the progress bars, notice that they mentioned the random update and it took almost a year to come out), not that thats a big deal but we all know about the whiny dumb kids trolling the forums...

 

 

 

anyway i can live without bts, i eagerly awaited every release of it and read it with a passion but if they feel they shouldnt release it anymore than i will trust in their judgement...

Did somebody say in the HYT chat about MMG saying that the 150th quest was gonna be slightly delayed because of some buggy things?

 

And he said that there were some smaller quests ready to be relased too, but not as the 150th cause they would get bad feedback 8-)

Oh yeah, State of Play was great, I don't know why they decided to abandon them so suddenly. It would be nice if it was a permanent fixture on the front page instead of a regular announcement.

I loved to read the BTS, but I think we should wait till we have 1 or 2 DD's before we can 'judge' the new system.

On a serious note, of all the three, state of play seemed the worst. Behind the scenes always gave us a sneak peak of whats to come, and I liked that. It gave me something to look forward to when I get bored of this game. I liked Devlopment Diaries, especially when major updates like summoning were still being developed. It gave them a chance to talk about the difficulties they face and how far along they are.
