Guest
Hey, tipit. There is a show coming up, and I was wondering, does anybody know any good drum solos, or songs with drum solos that I might be able to preform? The show is probally aorund may, but the auditions are coming up soon. I have been drumming for about 2 and a half years now, and really want to do something for this  Oh, length doesn't matter too much, I can add/repeat parts. EDIT: Ok, thanks for your help all, im still taking advice. A reminder is too keep solos not completely insane. Example; someone suggested moby [bleep] (censored, so think of the whale). It's a great solo, but JOhn Bonham had been a drummer for 15years beore he even attempted it. I still want all of your solos, though. I need all the inspirations possible to help me wirte it! Oh, if anyone has the acttual notation for it, it would be great if you could give me a PM. I can read both tabs and traditional music (The Every Good BoyDeserves Fudge, or FACE if you will). All help gets milk and cookies! Post, now. You know you want milk and cookies.
Mr_Adam
Van Halen's Hot for Teacher  What kind of show? A solo performance or band (with fills and solo for you)? Just play whatever comes to your head and keep it in time and flowing. That's what I do (but I just play drums in my basement sometimes, never anything big). Not sure if I have enough drums, though. That would make a nice intro for sure, though. EDIT: Damn, thats inhumaine  Definatly going to try and work a lign or 2 into my solo, though :P (Writing it now)
Lateralus
O Baterista and Der Trommler by Neil Peart are great solos. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Mr_Adam
Neil Peart (drummer from Rush) is great. I've seen vids of him and I think he was surrounded 360 degrees by all his drums (and he could play them, too). But I could be tall-taling on that... Anyways, maybe check some solo vids of him. Off Topic: Looking a Lateralus' name reminds me that I tried to buy that album today. But I mentioned it might have a PA sticker, and my parents got really worked up and made me show them the lyrics to the whole album #-o I'll have it tomorrow though. Just had to rant that. FlameHawk18
Well, it's not really a solo, but Slipknot's song "Eyeless" has a pretty awesome sounding intro. Not to mention, it sounds inhumane to me.

Guest
Try it. Honestly, I might be able to do that after a bit of practice. The hardest part, by far to me would be when he spinds his sticks and whatnot.

How2PK
[yt]ocfR3CIPFJo[/yt] Aja has some pretty good drums by Steve Gadd, if something from this song is useful for you (I don't know, I'm not a drummer) it would be the end I guess, it sounds pretty impressive to me at least. And if it's not of any help at least you've got an excellent song to listen to. :) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! If you only knew. I cannot spin sticks, at all. Nor, do I have the right kind of snare drum for that, so i suppose it doesn't really matter. That dude is in the center three snares on one of the best drumlines in the entire world and that's his best work...there is no way you or any average drummer could play that. I can only touch a few of the rudiments and hybrids he's playing there and I've been marching center snare for 4 years and am on a professional WGI Drumline right now. i_love_burritos
Anything in Judas Priest, however I like Ellis better than Hinch. Painkiller intro is one of the best in my opinion.
