Ryhzuo
We've all been there, we've all seen it. So here is the question, is freeloading an acceptable practice? On one hand, freeloading is getting something for nothing, you work for someone else's gain. It's unethical. It's Immoral. It's "noob". And it's just plain wrong. Would you stand next to a busker and then take half his money when the take is done? How about taking half the credit for a work of art because you stood there and watched him do it? While watching a movie or browsing the web I might add. But (paticularly during peak hours), NOT freeloading seems like the stupid thing to do. Why bother clicking on paste when someone else will get it before you? Why bother bailing when it won't make much of a difference anyway. Freeloading doesn't decrease the amount of gains that THEY receive. You might as well be invisible and it wouldn't make a difference at all. Is the hate towards freeloading simply because the workers are angry that someone people are getting off lazy? Do the freeloaders feel superior because they've "found" a way to abuse the system? The most intriguing thing I've noticed is that, although people ACT hostile towards these freeloaders, they don't feel complied to DO anything about it. Not once have I seen an organised ship sink, server change, heck how about changing to a pvp server and killing all the freeloaders? People would rather put up with it and go for maximum personal gain, than help the general cause. Maybe this is the flaw in the RS psyche that these freeloaders have learnt to exploit? And for the record, I am a mix of freeload and work. I do stuff if I'm not too sleepy or there is a lack of players. ~Less QQ, Moar Pew Pew~ I don't know how anyone would have thought to make a seagull launcher out of a shirt and an accordion for Rocking Out though... Sir_Kurity
People don't let the ship sink because they naturally don't want to lose. Your castle is going to be run down by the enemy. Little johnny next to you is drinking his beer and dancing around like an idiot, do you do the same? Or do you get a bow and start shooting. O.O
Ryhzuo
But would it matter if the castle is going to be run over anyway? Why try? ~Less QQ, Moar Pew Pew~ I don't know how anyone would have thought to make a seagull launcher out of a shirt and an accordion for Rocking Out though... tigershelby2
well...personally i think it is smart to let someone else do the work for you. will you ever be a big success while taking your time to do thw work? sure, but it will take longer. i will use my science teachers brother as an example. he is planning on writing a book on kayak fishing in new york. but he isnt going to go to all the different places to test them out. he is going to get 22 friends to go to 22 different locations to try them out. then he will have them all write a chapter on their experience. then he will take all the chapters and put them into a book. he will be the author, while they will still get most of the credit. unless you enjoy doing to work ( i personally love to write books lol) let someone else do it for you thats just my opinion of course Barrows: Verac- Helm, Brassard x 2,Torag- Body, HammersKaril- CrossbowGuthan- BodyAhrim- Hood, Staff

Sir_Kurity
But would it matter if the castle is going to be run over anyway? Why try? Well, the castle is not going to be run over (In fishing trawler even with many freeloaders you still end up winning) So, you still try, so that the castle (or in this case ship) dosent get run over (or sink). Owned_Nex
Well, most "freeloaders" are afking. On that damn boat, freeloaders do nothing but pick up loot. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. My keyboard is on fire. Want some?
Shazarabbit
I don't like freeloaders, i hate them. I really think the whole trawler experience need's to be looked at and recoded. You should have to do a percentage of effort to gain rewards etc. But in doing so, they could do the percentage then just sit there. Or it could immediately after a user not say patching a whole or pitching water throw them overboard. :D Proud Tip.It Moderator December 07 - October 2009Proud TETAU Member 2006 - 2007 <3"I had a standing agreement with god. [spoiler=click you know you wanna]Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
grizlysword
If you dont sink, its not that bad. Freeloaders should be forced to do something like in pc. And Freeloaders deserve to sink.
supercat
i dislike freeloaders because not only do they get rewards there not entitled to a lot of them also flame the workers jagex have also said they will soon be adding in a version of the soulwars anti freeloading system
Troacctid
Freeloaders should be forced to do something like in pc. Yes, and Jagex agrees, which is why they announced that Trawler will be receiving an activity bar (a la Soul Wars) at some point in the future. archimage_a
Life is about workers and freeloaders. I.e. Factory and Agriculture vs the middle class. Middle class always wins because no one cares enough to slaughter them. That said...If anyone wants to bombard the TET with suggests that tip it members decend on the trawler to drive out the freeloaders by sinking the ship continually, then I think that would be a good idea. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. LiamG14
It annoy's me so much, every time I have entered a game of Fishing Trawler I guess how much free loaders there wil be. The highest Free Loaders I have counted is 10.
Deathmath
Just being the devils advocate Freeloaders aren't doing anything 'wrong.' They aren't being nice, considerate or 'right' but if I had no moral compass I'd do that, and frankly it's to be expected. Freeloaders may not be doing anything wrong, but they're not doing anything right, either. The Trawler minigame is a cooperative game in which everyone has to (or should have to) participate to get the reward at the end. Anyone can say anything they like about how smart it is to have others work for you, blah blah blah. Just like the story of the hen and the grain* - if you didn't help me get these fish, you sure as hell ain't going to help me sell them. *: For those that need a reminder - the Hen asked for help around the barnyard with some grains she had collected. No one would help her during the process of making the grain to flour, and from flour to bread - but everyone was more than happy to help with eating the bread. Deathmath
Lol, I agree. People really should help, but I won't complain: it's easy to do, and you do get a reward. >.> Jagex needs some sort of req.
