Lunar_Drifter
I was thinking about resubscribing, but it tells me that I still have to pay the $5.95/month. I started membership when it was $5, and I was thinking I would get that rate if I signed back up. Now, the grandfathered-in thing doesn't count if you stop your subscription? I feel betrayed. :( Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! All are welcome!
cookie1762
They upped the price a while back, so I'm pretty sure if you cancelled your subscription, you can't get he cheaper price anymore. :( http://sign.tip.it/1/6/24/304/lady_scm.png Drops/Clue Finds:Shield left half: 1,Dragon plateskirt: 1, Warrior's Helm: 1, Obsidian Cape: 1, Robin Hood Hat: 1, Dragon Platelegs: 1, Dragon Boots: 4, Amulet of Ranging:
Lunar_Drifter
Yes I know that. I had my subscription when they upped the price, and they said that existing members and members who signed up within 6 months wouldn't have to pay the new price. So I still paid $5 when they finally jacked up the price, but canceled sometime after that. Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! All are welcome! cookie1762
Just send a message to jagex and ask them why your not getting the $5 a month rate. : http://sign.tip.it/1/6/24/304/lady_scm.png Drops/Clue Finds:Shield left half: 1,Dragon plateskirt: 1, Warrior's Helm: 1, Obsidian Cape: 1, Robin Hood Hat: 1, Dragon Platelegs: 1, Dragon Boots: 4, Amulet of Ranging:
AndyPandy
You're allowed a short period to resubscribe, sometime between 2 weeks and a month I think. If you don't resubscribe during that time, you pay the higher price. So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth, These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf, Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in, Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything, Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel, Tear up the book and write your own damn rules, Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got, And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut, And realise that the other world that you're always looking for, Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door, And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas, After all, you were put on the earth to do this, So shine your light so bright that all can see, Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be. Lunar_Drifter
Wow.. they should definitely keep that rate intact if you've been playing long enough. I paid for members on this account for well over a year continuously. Well, thanks for answering. Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! All are welcome! Kimberly
You could always try your hand at posting a thread in their Billing Section once you get members again. Perhaps if you can convince them they can give a charge-back of the remaining .95 you were so loathe to give up <
Lunar_Drifter
Harr harr. I just feel like it's a backstab for loyal customers who played for years, leave, and come back one day thinking "Oh, it's just 5 bucks a month.." Then they find out that despite their years of loyalty, they have to pay the same price bob0123lol that signed up yesterday pays. Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! cookie1762
Everything in the world has been going up. It does cost money to run things. I mean, an extra .95 cents is really not that bad for all you get to do in the game. There is not a whole lot of things you can do in this world for 5.95 a month. Just take it as change, and move on. : http://sign.tip.it/1/6/24/304/lady_scm.png Drops/Clue Finds:Shield left half: 1,Dragon plateskirt: 1, Warrior's Helm: 1, Obsidian Cape: 1, Robin Hood Hat: 1, Dragon Platelegs: 1, Dragon Boots: 4, Amulet of Ranging:
lordkafei
You can also swap between payment methods, as long as you keep members paid in some way, and keep the low rates. If I have prepaid time that's going to expire, I will cancel my bank card subscription and buy a PIN for a month against my phone balance, then swap back to bank card and still have the low rate. =D> PvP is not for meIn the 3rd Year of the BoycottReal-world money saved since FT/W: Hundreds of DollarsReal-world time saved since FT/W: Thousands of Hours

It's very kind of Jagex to let the older players pay the old price, not a lot of companies would have done that. Also, Jagex never increased their member prices, up till now, which is pretty much amazing. And by the way, they stated this clearly when they introduced the higher price. It's your own fault. yaziyo
It's probably still cheaper than it was a few years ago, once inflation is taken into account. So think about it that way, you're probably saving money \ Some games do not mix...
Sy_Accursed
You get the cheaper price once you have subscribed for over a year. If you let your subscription lapse for over a month you get put back up to the high rate. No, you just keep the $5 rate if you happened to never canceled your membership when they jacked up the price. Aka credit card. However this guy has left and is now being charged the high price. If you pay the high price after a year they drop it down to the loyalty rate, if you then let membership lapse for over a month you lose it again. Sy_Accursed
They did when the altered the prices. It said the lower "loyalty" rate is what you would pay if you were an existing member and did not let your membership lapse for more than 14 days and that also anyone who was a member for over a year would get the reduced rate. I know I said a month before, but I looked it up to prove a point If you have an existing subscription, set up before the 18th August, then this price change will not affect you. You will continue to pay the lower price for as long as you keep your membership valid. As long as you do not allow your membership to lapse for more than two weeks (after the 18th of August), you will continue to pay at this lower RuneScape price. We are also offering a 'loyalty' rate, for those of you who have paid at the slightly increased price for a long period. If you pay at the higher rate for 12 months (without a gap of more than 14 days) you will be offered the lower, $5 (£3.20) rate at the end of the year. Lunar_Drifter
Jagex never said there was a loyalty rate. Yes, they did. If you have membership for a year with lapses of non-membership for no more than 14 days, you get a loyalty rate of $5. It's on their website, just search for membership FAQ or billing FAQ. So you think you're so much better than other players, that you don't have to pay the higher price? It's very kind of Jagex to let the older players pay the old price, not a lot of companies would have done that. Also, Jagex never increased their member prices, up till now, which is pretty much amazing. And by the way, they stated this clearly when they introduced the higher price. It's your own fault. I didn't really pay attention if they said "you quit for more than x days you lose the low rate" part, because at the time of the update, I had no plans of quitting. I agree that it is very kind of them to have the loyalty rate. However, I don't think this thread implies that I think I'm better than everyone else. It's 95 cents, big freaking deal. It wasn't the monetary value I was concerned about. I'm not going to argue with you though, because it's stupid and pointless and wouldn't get either of us anywhere.
