Well ive managed to work myself upto 12mil in 3days killing a crap load of Aviansies. I want to start training my Attack and Defence again as soon as i have 93 Ranged. By then i should have about 17mil or 18mil in my bank. I was wondering wether or not i should buy a Saradomin Sword to train those to skills. I know most of you would say that whip is the best weapon to use when training them but i have found a SS to be a bit more accurate and theat i find myself gaining Exp a little bit faster than with a whip. Should i rather save the money i have or will a SS be a wise investment on my way to maxing out my skills.

yes, i got 99 strength with it very fast considering my relatively lower attack level

Well i've already got 99Str and i wont be training that at all anymore, just Attack and Defense.

dont. its only good for str. the slightly better accuracy is just fluctuations in the data, over time, whip with defender will destroy SS. get bandos tassets/plate instead.

hmm.. i ca nt say from experience but because you can wield rune defender my guess is whip is better, then you can buy fury berserk ring or even a bandos piece

if it was me i would but i don't have 75 defence, i'm a strenghth over attack person

You are 92 defence, don't spend your money on a DFS, it's really just not necessary and will cut down on your exp/hour dramatically.

 

 

 

If you were going to use a whip and DFS to train att and def it wouldn't make sense because that is pretty much like using a SS only with a shield. The rune defender makes all the difference here, and you won't need the defence from the DFS anyway.

 

 

 

Stick with the Whip+Defender its been tried and tested over and over and still remains at the top for training.

then go ahead and buy a dfs, and use a efender when not killing dragons.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a dfs, its only good for killing dragons and things with no defense(blessed spirit shield is better for gwd, the +3 prayer and no negatives outweighs the 20 extra defense)

 

I would buy bandos, looks badass, has enough defense to handle most monsters and a nice strength and prayer bonus

The ONLY reason to ever buy a saradomin sword is to train strength as a focus (since the whip can only train strength through controlled).

You want to train attack with a saradomin sword? What? A whip is the same strength and attack but 2 handed so you can use a defender, no reason to spend the extra 5.5m on a worse weapon.

The only good thing about the SS is its crush attack, which most people use on Waterfiends, and the +2 prayer bonus but thats minimal to what you can wear. The Spec is ok but switch to a DD(p++) for the specs if you do so.

There is what i ment, accidently put it in the quote instead of after it. But whip/DFS is better then SS due to the higher Str from the DFS and the defense bonuses it gives. But the Def is better due to the Attack bonuses from the Def.

But you also got a high def so no need for the Def from the DFS, the more accurate the more often you'll hit something, therefore the faster you get exp. The DFS as i see it is only good for Dragons and boss hunting. Other then that Whip+def is the best for training.
