I know this question has probably been asked a million and one times, but I didn't quite find what I was looking for when i searched. I want to get my summoning to 68. I'm currently level 95. My stats are as followed:

I heard the best charms to hunt are crimsons charms, but the only good dropper is waterfiends. I don't know if my character can handle them or not, and I would really like to know if he can. If not what are your suggestions for my goal to 68 summoning?

 

 

 

Current Charms: 250 green, 250 gold, anywhere from 10-100 crimson (I don't remember ha) and about 12 blue (w00t!)

if you have 65 slayer fight dust devils. Their charm rate isnt as good as waterfiends, but they still drop them pretty often. Greater Demons and Black Demons also have an ok crim charm rate.

Just do some slayer imo. You'll get them eventually. ;)

And personally cockroach soldiers have given me around 60 crimson charms in a trip..on my member account

Just so you know what your getting into I am trying to get 68 Summoning aswell using slayer. It works pretty good but making Terrorbirds with Gold, Ibis' with Green, Bloated Leeches with Crimsons, and Mithril Mintours with Blue (I'm going for the cheapest way to get 68) I will need 2k Gold and 1k of Green and Crimson. And that's from level 52, from 24 it's going to be even more so just warning you. Although if you do use slayer all the way to get the charms you will not only make quite a bit off money but gain ALOT of xp. But slayer is pretty much the best way to get a general amount of charms unless you camp for a long time at different monsters.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this. But don't use your blues until WAY later. They are so rare to get, its not worth using them to train on. Only use them for a familiar you want to use. :

Like cookie said, keep you blues for later and once you reach 52, make t-bird wit gold, 56 ibis with green.

 

Slayer is not the fastest way to gather charms, but it sure is a very balanced way to raise combat, summoning, total levels and get a decent amount of money while doing so. I would suggest training it for your objective.

Slayer is nice, but penguins, rewards lamps and other boosts help a lot.

 

If your aiming for 68 summoning you'll get atleast 70 slayer if you stick with just slaying.

That info is kinda useless without knowing how long the trip was -.-

 

 

 

Currently I'm killing greaters for them, they're ok, one of the better options I guess. There are some safe spots to range from though

you can go and slay bork everyday , he drops a nice amount of charms, even blue, with your stats you will be able to kill him easily :thumbsup:

train slayer, you get near 1:1 slay xp to summon xp with it, also keep up with slaying bork

bork can be quite a hard kill at your level, but if you dont mind spending aprox 1 prayer pot, a super sat and quite a lot of sharks it'd be ok :)

 

 

 

the blue charm drop makes up for it in my opinion anyway

Why not? :P Dust Devils and Greater Demons are very good for crimson charms. I collect my charms with slayer, and that doesn't go too badly for me. If you have a low slayer level it might not be so good, but why not raise it and see what happens? Waterfiends CERTAINLY aren't your only option.
