Farming Crimson Charms

Featured Replies

Lately I've been considering farming crimson charms as a break from getting charms via slaying. I am just curious as to whether I'd be able to hold my own at Waterfiends, or if I should aim for higher att/str before going there. Also an estimate of charms/hour would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Waterfiends would be best.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

That I already know.

I was asking if it would be more advantageous to train att/str higher via slayer then use the fiends as a break, or if its viable to get a decent amount of charms there (enough to justify using it) with my current stats.

I would recommend getting 70 prayer. Other than that, I think you could handle it.

Slayer is barely any faster xp than waterfiends. Hell, it might even be slower.

"Farming" as a term to describe camping something for a drop is well-known throughout MMORPGs; c.f. gold-farming.

Slayer is bad xp. Bad money. Bad charms. Don't do it unless you want slayer xp. Do waterfiends for charms; the only other thing worth doing is rock lobsters, but I wouldn't do this unless you want magic xp (personal belief).

And for the record I kind of like slayer, so I trained it a lot.

Crimson seeds would be nice, but shard seeds even better.

The main purpose of me training slayer is for the slayer exp. I've simply been relying on these charm drops to level my summoning, and am finding that in order to advance summoning at a fast rate charm farming breaks are required.

And I consider rock lobsters too expensive for my tastes.
