Shadow on the left looks odd, but you don't notice it at smaller sizes (like your sig).

Cool atmo and angle, gives it a great fantasy look. Sky and mountains look a little too sharpened IMO and it could do with some airbrushing (a boat in the water, a stream flowing from the mountains, bridges, whatever..).

It looks beautifully real, but all these terragens are starting to look bland and unoriginal. :(

The reflections in the water are very odd. They are exact reflections in the water yet the mountains are miles away (judging by the haze)

The moujntains are also really weird and far too high and [bleep]ey. the rocky outcrops on the site of the hill on the right hand site are amazing but the ones at the top look awful. The reflection of the sun is in a really odd place in the scene too :-/ And lastly what are all the blue spots and patches in the water?

You have this problem with rocks and mountains EVERY time, you are using the excuse of "im experimenting" or "trying something different" to cover up the fact that you consistently do it wrong and make an unrealistic scene.

Just one rather off topic question: Does anyone do their "bump maps" manually? Like in Photoshop? Or does everyone use some world generator?

Oh one more thing.. there's an ÃÆÃâÃâüber sharp blotch in the water a bit left from the bottom mid.

dude you keep churning them out! I dont know anything bout terragen but too me the wall paper looks goood. Kinda reminds me of a landscape from LOTR :)

And no lol why do you always want to get stuff from John Lewis. Its over ̣̉300 more then than what i paid.

John Lewis is a great, great shop.

You never cease to amaze me with your work, although you sharpened it a bit to much. Is this with the new version of Terragen or isn't it out yet?

I'm not trying to cover up anything merc.

thanks for the C&C, I'll keep that stuff in mind for my next scene.

Col, I don't know anyone that does.

Thanks uys.

Damn, I hate to be honest, but I don't like it again.

The mountains all the way in the back at the left side just look like spectrum analyser. And overal the picture hardly has any dimension. People can give you all the CC they like, but it seems like you never do anything with it. You just ignore 'em and you just prop out another 'masterpiece'.

Actualy I realy don't ignore them. I see what you mean about the mountains however, i'll have to watch out for that when I use world machine. :)

And, I never called it a 'masterpiece', nor have I called any of my scenes a 'masterpiece'. There are tons out there better than me, and I know it. I'm just trying to learn more about not just the program, but the actual composition as well. And there realy isn't any other way to do that other than to get some feedback.

I never said you called it a masterpiece. The 'masterpiece' was meant that it wasn't a masterpiece. And you say that you take all your CC, but it doesn't seem like you are improving. That could mean two things.

1. You ignore the CC

2. You can't do anything with the CC/understand the program fully.

1. means you're just arrogant.

2. means you don't book any improvement and that it's time to move on to something new.

If it's not one, then it's going to be two, and that will be my advice too.

1. No, I realy don't ignore it.

2. Like I said, I understand 'most' of the program, but there are a few parts i'm sketchy on. Mostly water and atmospheres, surface maps I think I have down alright.

I'll still be doing landscapes, because quite frankly it's what I enjoy doing most, but I will pay more attention to the smaller details. Basicly said, I've been thinking kind of 2 dimensional about some elements. You know, the basic stuff, grass doesn't grow there, ect, but I haven't stoped to think for a moment about things such as merc said.

How2PK: That's just rude.

Thanks for info nad. Do you happen to know any world generating programs (aside from the one inside terragen) for macs? I'd really like to learn to do some landscapes. Even if it only is playing with sliders.

I think you can control that a little better in World Machine by slapping a bit of weathering on the terrain. Rainfall should do the job better than fluvial or thermal weathering.

Yeah true.

Col, you can check out world-machine. I don't know if it's for mac's or not. I'm not realy familiar with any other terrain editors other than it however. Only other one I know is called Terrabrush I belive.

:)

I have a realy nice camera angle going on right now. It's on top of a mountain looking down, so it's preaty cool :D

How2PK- I'd really like to see you do some terragens, to see how great you are.

All of nads threads you flame them, which i think your just doing it because you have something you dislike about him.

So give some CC but not that crap that your giving him, k?

Looking pretty good nad..wheres my phree one? (unless you want me to use the one im using now..or i could use some from the competition  )

Sam, please don't but in and flame him. I'm fine with what he said.

Actually Daan gave VERY good criticisms and most certainly wasnt a flame. IT was certasinly worth while than your simple praise post which didnt help nad at all find out what to improve on. You also dont need to know how to use terragen to know that a landscape isnt realistic.

You're good with the mountains especially with the texture. However like mentioned the clouds especially those at the top left can really be seen as if they had been brushed of some sort (maybe because of the texture)

I don't think I have anything to prove, it wouldn't influence Nad, or his work in anyway, it's completely irrelevant how good my terragens would be. And I'll admit, I don't even have the program, let alone know how to use it.

Well, well, well, don't be so harsh. I think I gave CC in maybe three (?) of his threads, that's hardly all of his threads, don't you think? And I'm not doing it because I "dislike" Nadril, I never said I dislike him, I even got two or three signatures done by him, and I used one as an example in another thread. You should keep your thoughts for yourself, instead of making me look like the bogeyman..I didn't give him 'crap', I gave him my thoughts and that's it. But I'm not surprised you didn't get anything out of my replies, you're only a Monkeyboy (not a racist comment) after all.
