zeekyhbomb
Well I just bought guild wars today and its laggy some times so Ive just decided to install more ram as I only have the minimum ammount required. Right now i have 256 mb ram and was wondering, should I just get another 256 and make it 512, or buy more, or what? Also I was wonering how the hell do I open u my computer, and where do I put this ram (I'm not tech 'savvy' as you can tell) my model is a dell dimension 2400. Well any help would be grety appreciated, thanks in advance :D
Mercifull
All memory upgrades from www.crucial.com Dell Dimension 2400 supports up to 2GB. Lose the 256 stick and grab yourself a few 512's and bump up to a gig. The dell cases usually have a grey button on the top and bottom of the case. When you push them in the case opens. From then on its incredibly easy to add more memory. The inside of your pc look like this (with cables of course) The red box is there the RAM goes. It can only slot in those areas and can only go in one way do you cant go wrong. Push them into the lots nice and firm, clip the white holder things into place, close the case and turn on. Easy. If your pc wont turn on then its probably because you nocked a cable out of place so check everything is how it was when you opened the case and try again :P Just remember to earth yourself so you dont static shock the inside of your pc and fubar it :P Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Pyro
While installing RAM is possibly the easiest "addition" you can do to your computer, I'm not sure I would recomend it. The chance that you will damage components is small, but the risk exists. I would recomend that someone with previous experience of installing hardware is present when you do it. fullup
I'd recommend crucial modules as well, so you can't go far wrong by using the link that Mercifull posted, but if you don't go for those then make sure that you get something suitable for your machine. Installation really is incredibly easy, so don't worry too much about that. If you're not happy, though, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone to do it for you. Chris
i built my computer myself so i have a external ram port so i know what i am talking about because i have a paid internship as a programer and i am only 16 i am running a 6.8processor because i am running a dual processor 2 3.4s Technically 2 3.4GHz CPU's don't run at 6.8GHz, you're only running at 3.4GHz, the fact that most applications can't as of yet use the 2 cores at exactly the same time anyway. So one would be doing something and the other would be doing something else, both running at 3.4GHz respectively. I know your type, we get know it alls in our shop all the time, funny thing is we fix their computer. Notoriously Trollish.

Thanks for making my day man! Hilarious. I am almost ashamed to say I am the same age as you  So tell me, what exactly do you do with this 2.4GB Ram and 6.8GHZ Processor? Dual processors....they're core speeds don't add up you know  Funny kid. Lol. As for the poster, I gotta say I agree with Pyro. Ram is one of the easiest things to install, but you don't even know how to open your computer? Yikes, I don't know you irl, so I can't really say, but seems too risky to me. I'm just imagining you trying to pull your case side apart, throwing it on the ground, then holding your Ram sticks with a full fist, and jamming it into anything that fits. Ahhhhhh. :o Lol.
